Man, you sure talk a lot.
Clearly, you don't actually understand that of which you speak though.
I have been around, I am an electronics tech and worked for a long time as a PC hardware tech. Despite all of your BS ramblings, there is still no need to upgrade this platform, for myself and my use case, or for many others like me. You make claims about performance, but that is objective, and further to that, can only be decided on by the owner of the hardware and what they expect from it.
It's obvious from your attitude and lack of knowledge, that you are young. Anyone with enough relevant life experience would know that upgrading something that still performs its task just fine is a waste, a futile game for those with more money than brains.
Please stop replying in this thread as you clearly have a newer platform with the correct instruction sets supported by your CPU to run this game, so therefore this is of no concern to you anyway.
As was written in 1907 by Maurice Switzer, it is better to remain silent at the risk of being thought a fool, than to talk and remove all doubt of it.
So good job on that one, belittling people over the internet regards an issue that doesn't affect you at all.
Cheers Glenn
what do i not understand? that 11 year old cpu's miss out on both features and performance? because that is factually correct, unless of course you can prove me wrong
it certainly doesn't show, and then again, there is a pc hardware store not far from where i live, and sure, they usually know something regarding what they talk about, but most of the time they just know what they can read about the product. in fact i am usually more informed about what i am buying than they are, so uhm yeah that means literally nothing. did you know these people didn't even know what a WACOM drawing tablet is?
yet you are here in a thread of an AVX game(a feature which the people complaining here lack, and since you are here supporting them i suppose you do too). so that certainly does point to you needing to upgrade your platform, unless of course, you are not interested in playing this game. but in that case, what the hell are you doing in here?
okay so i am pretty sure you mean "subjective" because if it were "objective" that would mean i am correct, and the rest of your point would be entirely contradicting. and while it is up to the user to decide when he wants better performance or more features, it is, regardless of that, objectively correct that older cpu's miss out on both performance and features.
depends what you mean with young but yes, i am most likely younger than you, which doesn't really mean anything and despite your point here can even work in my advantage.
yet you can't run this game? funny, so it performs "fine" but doesn't support all games? and you are here so you want it to support more games? oh wait doesn't that point to your pc not performing to your satisfaction anymore? oh yes, yes it does.
okay so now you are insulting people that actually UPGRADE? ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥... so lemme guess, because i upgraded from a 1080ti to a 3070 and from an i7 7700k to a ryzen 7 3800x i have more money than brains? because the other system worked "fine"? ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ you do realize how many people you just insulted right?
okay so because i can run the game i have nothing to say to people with inferior cpu's that lack instruction sets to run the game begging for support? for real? i can't inform people on this? wow...
lemme make this clear here, if you have an old cpu that doesn't have any avx instructions i couldn't care less, when you start complaining that your OUTDATED cpu needs to be supported however then i do. because it is not up to the company to support outdated tech, yet it is up to you to stay at least a tiny bit relevant. if you really want to play a game you can't because your hardware is holding you back, it is NOT up to the devs of a game to support you, but up to you to upgrade that hardware, or you know, forget about the game and play the games your pc CAN run.
maybe i would follow your own advice, good job on insulting people that actually stay relevant and do upgrade their hardware, someone got seriously butt hurt over their old inferior machine
all in all, you claim to know about tech, yet you own a XEON processor(a cpu commonly known to not be meant for gaming, you can game on them, but that doesn't mean they are made for that. you are better off getting an i5 or an i7) and you bought a game that REQUIRES AVX. it certainly doesn't seem like you know much about technology
This makes you look pretty stupid. If you're trying to win an argument, don't use whataboutism, hyperbolic language, or put words in the opponents mouth. If you get "insulted" by someone criticising your buying habits then you have bigger issues going on.
i don't have a problem with my buying habits, i thought it was time to upgrade for me so i did. however looking at this i, according to him, have "more money than brains". maybe actually look at what is being said before putting the blame in my shoes...
i never put words in his mouth, these are literally his words, keep that in mind next time you start playing the blame game with someone
I see your only strategy is that of deflection. The guy was clearly speaking generally and from his wording, he's talking more from his own experience with upgrading. But go ahead and feel insulted.
that was from his stance a way of saying "i don't upgrade that often because i know more about technology" and before you say I am putting more words in his mouth learn to comprehensively read these sort of things...
it was most likely intended as down talking and yes, it can be interpreted as INSULTING, as i have already demonstrated, that is NOT up to you to decide.
But as a gamer you can also expect of the developers to work in your best interest. Meaning if other companies managed to patch out instruction requirements to support older hardware, Death Stranding could also have such a patch.
So which side you pick just comes down to an opinion. And that's why we are free to decide.
IOW, if they updated their game to take advantage of CP2077 hype/marketing with that Dec crossover patch, WTF can't they at least cover player monitor options? If they refuse to offer proper monitor options, don't hold your breath for AVX is all I have to say.
