Nvidia website says my gpu does have directx 12.

Well I searched in google and my gpu does supports Directx 11.2 and 12

I'm able to run 840m on max settings so upgrading is not the issue here. Cards that can run DX12 are supposed to be able to play this game. You will have to wait for update 1.02 hopefully then they will fix this.

You have a Nvidia GeForce 840m and you can play this game? I have one too and i'm having DX12 problems. I'm thinking i'll only be able to play this game if i buy a new laptop but if that's true i'll feel slightly better.

P.S. You play on max settings with a GPU that doesn't even fill the minimum requirements? I'm really doubting that.

Idk but I'm well over 90 hours playtime already. I can play games I shouldn't even be able to like Doom Immortal.

2. The 860m won't cut it, I am going to be blunt with you the chances of you ever running this game is close to 0, I suggest perhaps getting a refund while you can before you can't. And then wait and see.
3. Ignore the 840m comment, it is an obvious troll.

good grief why are you buying modern games with that turd of a gpu? you are not even remotely close to meeting min requirements for a game like this. that gpu is based on the desktop 750 ti but is a bit slower.

lol a patch is not going to help it run worth a damn. your gpu is WAY too slow and does not even come close to the min gpu needed here plus it does not have enough vram. please learn to read the store page before making stupid decisions.

I have Windows 10 2004. At this point, I'm just waiting for my new laptop so hopefully that will fix the problem.

you have deluded yourself. an 860m is not capable of playing many of the more modern games at framerates most people would find acceptable unless running butt ugly settings and resolution. I have a slightly faster 750 ti right here in front of me and I could not even stand using it for a back up card since 2 years ago. AGAIN there are minimum requirements for a reason on the store page.

New laptop will fix the problem, just make sure you future proof yourself with good GPU that comes with it.
