lose ends before leaving port knot city?

So yeah I get a message saying make sure you tie up loose ends before leaving port knot city, which I assume means the optional deliveries to increase your star rating with the outposts but is there any point to increasing the star rating or do they just give you crap like a useless cap or something?

no, you can go back later anyway, I think it's more about active deliveries in terms of "lose ends"

It's really kind of dumb because they hammer away at how you need to take care of everything, not leave any loose ends, make sure you have nothing left you want to do etc etc and then after basically an extended cutscene they introduce a way to fast travel... so yeah I was able to immediately go back and take care of a few of the special jobs I hadn't done yet (like find the cube for the distro center guy).

As long as you don't have any jobs you are currently working on it's fine.
