If you prefer the accomplishment of getting it done yourself, it's possible, just a little grindy.
seeing random stuff really takes away a lot of the atmosphere.
shortcuts are already build everywhere you look.
you can even see the path traveled by others, so you can´t really find the best way on your own.
roads are a collective effort in online, in offline i didn´t bother with them at all.
and thats why some call this game a fedex simulator,
when everything else is done by some other player, all that is left is delivering packages.
but the game has so much more to offer.
for me, online was a lot easier, in fact so easy i restarted the game in offline mode.
but that depends on who you are paired with.
could be an absolute pro, or some random idiot.
i guess thats the reason bugmans experience is so different to mine.
What about using the option dont share structures?
the signs often warn you about dangerous areas(bt´s) and show the preferable routes,
so it was to much for me, personally.
it´s basicall that offline mode gives you a desolate, hard to traverse landscape.
i think that fits the narrative better, after all YOU are supposed to rebuild america.
but in the end it´s a matter of taste.
one thing i forgot to mention is that in online mode, you can get likes(xp) by other players,
so you will level up faster.
