Voidouts
Hi everyone, I haven't played this game since I don't own a PS4 but I've seen a lot of gameplay and have taken a liking to it. I am curious however about voidout craters. I've seen many videos of people causing them and that's about it. There's numerous articles out there with conflicting information (will post examples), so I decided to ask the community. Do the voidout craters stay permanently, does any grass recover on them due to timefall and they become traversable again or do they completely disappear over time?

Conflicting articles:

So it definitely lasts longer than 1 day in real time.

Crater will go back to pre-voidout state after a day (in real time) or so thanks to timefall - if what people saying are true that is.
It's kinda hard to get it done since combat is fairly easy even in Hard mode... You pretty much just have to let the Catcher eat you if you really want to make crater.

Yeah. I've finished the game and this never happened to me. There are like 4 stages before a total loss condition. BT senses you > BT catches you > Run/fight Catcher > ??? > Profit

Still. It's an awesome thing to include with the massive terrain deformation, which you don't see a lot of in open world games.

Truth be told, I watched a full playthrough of the game and still cannot wait to start playing it when it releases for PC, it is an absolute staple. My opinion aside though, I'm not so much worried about failing, more so just curious if I do on purpose decide to experience a voidout if I would have to deal with that crater for the rest of the entire playthrough. (Excluding reloading an earlier save point, just hope it naturally goes back to normal)

Game creates a series of autosaves. If you just want to do one and see, you can quickly load it to before.

True, just have to wait a couple of long and arduous months to actually play the game. :(
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Much appreciated, finally someone to not say any speculations and just say what it is like. Thank you!
