Player left equipment and signs
Does anyone else find these annoying? So you can tell where previous players have gone, where the best route is, where the shelters and enemies are, without figuring all this out for yourself. Where is the fun in that? Stupid idea. Removes all the surprise.

I am obviously going to have to turn them all off.

Just take the equipment, eventually you'll just craft your own stuff, even donate them more than you take too
As for signs, you can change it in setting

If you want to turn all sharing off, play offline

Its not helping people its spoiling the game for them.

It is about sharing your journey, connecting and helping other porters - just like they help you! Turning the online off is fine. However, I implore you to try it out after you complete the game or at another point. It is one of the most important mechanics of the game, and one that Hideo Kojima is really proud of. After all, in an interview he did say "I hope this game teaches you something about connecting."

You're not really getting the developers overriding message about connecting and cooperation in a post apocalyptic, disconnected world.

It's literally the game concept lol, the message of the entire game is connecting people together and push it through the storm with them

You don't get online help until you connect the area. You will get to every location without help.

There's an option to disable signs with spoilers so you'll mostly only be getting stamina boosting signs.

No structures appear until you've unlocked that structure, and nothing appears in any area until you've established the network connection.

That's not spoiling anything if you've already had to trek through alone before they show up.

In the beginning of the game I certainly appreciated a well placed ladder or drop box, but the signs were/are complete trash in an otherwise beautiful environment. Maybe you have to grow up in a city with no experience off pavement to think the signs are acceptable and 'fun'. I need no motivational messaging, I do not need to be connected to the hive to that degree.

Then came the vomit of bridges and other structures in absolutely useless places.

Those who say "play the game with sharing, you don't know what you miss..." I say, play without because you don't know the real beauty of the game without all that crap placement.

I have to agree, signs and climbing equipment all over the place, bridges already constructed just where you need them avoid you from having to do these things yourself - it all looks unsightly and spoils the game because people are telling you where they went and which ways are best. then you get the worst of the lot - signs warning you of BTs so there is no surprise or suspense at all. I don't understand how this is fun for anyone.

I quite like the other features like picking up other peoples cargo and leaving yours for others to take etc. But the constructions and signs are a dreadful idea. And I have turned spoilers off and I am still seeing the warning signs and shelter signs.

And for those who say you don't see them when you are not in communication range, the communication range extends a hell of a long way. So yes you see a lot of these things. For example I was on my way to a station and I saw signs warning me of mules just before I got attacked, a sign telling me of a shelter, signs warning me off BTs just before I reached them, etc etc. I only left communication range just before I arrived at the new station. That's just no fun at all.

Now I am just at the start of the game, 13 hrs in, got only to the third station with the bike in it, so it may improve after that I certainly hope so. Because at the moment I am struggling to find much interest in continuing the game at all if its all spelled out for me before I even get there.

I love the natural world and natural countryside, and at the start I thought this game looked beautiful, but the more you get into the areas tainted by other players the worse it gets.

Sometimes people turn to bridges as improvised rain shelters, as they allow you to park a car underneath and rest while the game clock passes. Otherwise, when a structure is blocking your path or otherwise useless, you can simply demolish it, which will remove it from your world only, so no need to worry about messing with someone else's structures.

Also keep in mind you may not always see the full picture of why someone placed a bridge where they did. Maybe in their world someone placed a much more important bridge and they simply added theirs to it as a method of convenience.

You are going to have to play offline to enjoy the game, it gets worse, much worse if you continue in 'share world'

I end up spending more time melting others' eyesores than I want to. I logged in one time after months away and the terrain looked like an industrial wasteland with dozens of useless bridges and those observation towers everywhere. I have a good system, my draw distance is at max.

Explain to me why there is a bridge over absolutely nothing on the beach within spitting distance of a delivery destination? You can park under a rain shelter and repair damaged parcels. These bridges and other crap all over the place are simply trash.

Dial back the crap settings or play offline.

I agree there are plenty bridges that seem simply placed completely arbitrarily near with seemingly no purpose. But all I'm saying was if you spot one in the middle of nowhere far from any other signs of structures or to bypass an obstacle, that bridge may have saved someone's cargo.

The bridge-as-shelter could be an explanation, but wouldn't a rain shelter serve the purpose better? I park under them when I need to, they repair cargo cover.

As you say:

I think you nailed the point. The game seems to be placing things randomly to cover when there isn't enough player 'stuff' out there. Some dropped parcels are other players, sure, but look closely at the details of the account they are attributed to and I think it becomes more and more obvious.
