Do you read interviews?
I scan through the emails, but there seems to be enough interview data to fill a small book with. Am I missing any important lore by not reading it. I've never been much of a reader in games, do enough of that at work. Any thoughts welcome.

Yes ... Especially in game like this , when you read them - interviews make sense and they are interesting ... Don't be like friend of mine - his favourite game by far is Red Dead Redemption 2,he skip all cutscenes - and then he ask me : ''what happened here, what happened there'' ... At last, you'll need to read 100 interviews to get achivement ...
yes
Not all at once of course

So much text in an already slow game. Don't get me wrong, I really like DS, but like OP I already have reading for work, so, just so much esoteric reading during my decompression time is causing anxiety about what I miss in the game, LOL...

Back to 2000s readings in games like Deus Ex were very carefully tailored and immersive. Now it's just shallow, boring and unnecessarily detailed but often off topic, most written by some amateur. IMO.

I don't think I've ever skipped a cutscene, I love story and lore in games, but does the interview data really add much more to the game?

I would say some of them are worth it. I read a decent amount in my playthrough and found it to be mixed mag of some really neat stuff and some dumb stuff. I also read some cool stuff that people pointed on the wiki or on the subreddit that I had missed because I didn't read everything.

Unfortunately I can't say that about every email some of it came across as kind of dumb. So idk, personally if I were you i'd just try to pick out ones that seem interesting to you and ignore others and maybe check the wiki or subreddit from time to time just in case you miss something.

I almost always consider emails/stories to be fluff, but this game did it right. Almost every email allows you to stitch together the past.

Is it for everyone? No way. But if you love reading sci-fi and are generally a curious person, you may enjoy them.
