Thanks <3
On the other hand, i really hate the way they shove that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ energy drink in your face at all times. If you care more about this, wait for DC, since they will remove it.
Directors Cut for this game is not on the same scale as say the difference between a Persona game and their later iterations. You're not getting any new characters or massive story beats. If anything some of the new content actually detracts from the original experience, fun as the gadgets may be.
Original Death Stranding is game about navigating lonely vistas and fighting the elements. Feeling by turns alone, or connected to other Porters/players. It's sometimes a slog. It's always pretty. It's best moments happen when your engine runs out of battery, or you miss a step on a slope and everything goes wrong. If you want the game that was sold through the trailers and by Hideo Kojima it's here, play it.
The Directors Cut adds a new area, and some Metal Gear esque stealth is more emphasised briefly. It adds a bunch of fun extra gadgets... but as anyone who got far enough or completed the original game will tell you; the more and better gadgets you have do not always make the game better. The early stages where you struggle are the most fun. The original games' late game wire system nearly breaks the early fun when finely get them. Directors Cut just adds more of that. Getting places fast in Death Stranding misses the point of Death Stranding IMO.
Even Kojima has pretty much said he didn't want the game really labelled as a "directors cut". It's got some interesting stuff... but do yourself a favour experience the game the way it's meant to be.
My two cents, as they say.
And yes, the wire / cable transport system really destroys the gameplay. It reduces the game to jumping / teleporting from A to B without having to fight the elements.
But...I cant wait on my PS5 so I played the PS4 version
one word...WOW!
So, when I have the PS5, first game I am gonna play is the Directors Cut :)
as far as reasons to play the director's cut go, this is a very strange hill to die on
The energy drink has been replaced half a year ago...
