power skeleton questions?
is the 3 types, normal, silver and gold all the same in terms of stats?
it seems the silver and gold are just asthetic skins.

also, is there any cases that not wearing them to have access to the leg attach points is benefical to not using them?

Try the options out, right? Of course there are 'cases' where one works and the other doesn't, there always are...

skins are merely aesthetic in function

there is no situation in which you wouldn't use an exoskeleton if you have one available, but that isn't to say that the power skeleton is the best option, in fact in most situations the power skeleton is actually the least useful of the three except when hauling cargo via ziplines

at the point in the game that i suspect you're up to, though, then no
wear them to your heart's content, as you probably haven't got access to the other skeleton types yet, both of which free up the hip slots

Yes all the same colour wise but there are three levels.

Yes all the same colour wise but there are three levels.

i am not meaning levels, i mean these 3
power skeleton level 1 - 3
power skeleton (silver) level 1 - 3
power skeleton (gold) level 1 - 3

so i am saying any of those 3 compared to each other assuming its always the same level.
ive made gold and silver and they dont seem to be different than the normal, and cost the same to make.

if theres other power skeletons or armor than t his i havent seen them yet, i just unlocked the reverse trike in the fabriacte menu.

but what i meant was you can attach 2 cargo boxes to your legs if you dont use these, are there cases where you would not wear the skeleton for access to those slots?

Certainly, as long as you're not constrained by the weight of your cargo, you can go without the skeleton and carry 2 more pieces of small lost cargo. There are also times that if you're combining deliveries you need to use all 4 slots on your suit to get those loads either on your back, your bike or your truck. As mentioned by cyäegha, once you access the other skeletons you'll be fine.

I was answering your first question - but I've never found a situation where its more worthwhile to have free leg slots for cargo above the increased stability/speed in moving.

If you want to clear a MULE camp on very hard it's quite comfortable to have 4 armor plates attached to the suit for damage reduction (they stack) but could be overkill but in the end i only carry ~4 assault rifle, 8 blood bags and 4 plates after all while knocking them out so capacity isn't a problem.

For farming BTs it's also comfortable to have 4 suit slots für grenades on top the grenade pouch to have about ~7-8 grenades (early game before any other useful weapons come around) to kill a BT (the one west of craftsmen is my favorite farm spot for fast 3000 crystal) because these slots can't fall off while getting dragged in the center.
