28 XL or 42 large or 84 medium or 168 small or any combination thereof.
2 small = 1 medium
2 medium = 1 large
1 1/2 large = 1 XL
Also you can carry into the cab with you a max of 4 small attached to your suit and as much as you can get IN your backpack ( 8 small or 4 med or 2 large or 1 XL + 1 medium or any other combination that doesn't exceed the equivalent volume of 8 small ).
Defensive trucks deteriorate from timefall just as fast as any other truck, the defensive part is an electrical shield that protects it from gunfire etc. but it really drains the battery quick if you stay under fire for too long. I'd say if you're not going off-road much and raiding camps a lot, the defensive might suit you better but you'll want a generator nearby.
plus, pound-for-pound the defensive gains you get from a defensive-type truck hit diminishing returns earlier than armor plates do - rather, even one armor plate provides a considerable amount of damage reduction versus gunfire even on very hard, and is universally useful across all use-cases and vehicles
put another way, the long-range type can shave precious seconds off lengthy premium timed deliveries that a defensive-type would have to spend charging at generators
After unlocking defensive truck, my strategy of looting mule camps is slightly different. I usualy go trough camp all way to the post box and park next to it. Open post box and put loot directly to truck. No need for carriers. I either deal with eventual nearby mules with non lethal assault rifle, kicking them or with similar non deadly weapon. Or just drive away quickly, depending on enemy numbers and my overall health/equipment condition.
Advantage of defensive truck vs L3 is that even if you got unlucky and get hit by electric spears, you won't be throw away from truck and you are able to continue driving. I didn't encountered terrorist camp.
Since I have builded almost all road sections, battery capacity is not issue and I was able to do most of premium timed cargo runs within 5-10 minutes, even with detouring slightly to nearby shelters for extra delivery and/or extra orders in single run.
