Can you fall off the reverse trike?
Excluding deep water where the trike becomes submerged is it possible to fall off it at all?
I mean I've done some pretty large drops and 10m jumps (to do physics breaking jumps you boost while on the back wheel and hit a rock and you'll be launched over pretty much any rough terrain, in chapter 3 anyway, which is as far as I've got) over rough terrain, onto rough terrain usually with the only outcome of damaging the trike, or any cargo loaded onto it. I mean you can use the thing like a pogo stick, but can you fall off?

The question ends here, I'm just talking on now so if you want to drop a quick yes/no answer there's not much need to read past here.

If you can't fall off in normal (and abnormal) circumstances I'm in two minds about the trike, it's extremely useful to get from A to B however it makes the power skeleton feel almost useless outside of niche circumstances and just turns it into a cargo weight bonus rather than superlegs, but I assume terrain will get tougher as I progress.
It would have been nice if the trike had a balance mechanic and (unless it comes up later in further chapters), vehicles like the truck (which I haven't unlocked though I did use a Mule truck until it was at 8% health) were able to get bogged down in mud and other difficult terrain kind of like mudrunner/snowrunner.

Yes.

Yes you can get thrown off the trike. I've had it happen once, but the situation was so catastrophic and annoying I just reloaded the game so it doesn't count.
I've seen a lot of people talk trash about the trike probably since they're not able to control and climb with it. It's a good vehicle, but it's not going to do everything. The truck specifically you mentioned is going to be for *huge* loads and temperature-sensitive deliveries. Now about skeletons... well since you're talking about the power skeleton and trying to include that in reasoning, the best thing I can say is keep playing.
The power skeleton is useless for a different reason. Just make sure you don't miss a certain prepper when you're stranded way out in a certain part of the map trying to get home, and you'll unlock something you're going to want to get to Level 3 ASAP.
For now though the power skeleton just lets you ignore weight limits and stack cargo like a madman ignoring the whole concept of balance. You'll feel the difference when you eventually stop using it even while just getting off the trike to complete a delivery.

really only noticed falling off when getting hit by mule spears or grabbed by BTs.
if you're skillful enough, you can definitely take the trike through crazy terrain and dangerous areas, that little thing is a beast if you have the technique.
only troubles you run into with a bike is making bad jumps and getting cargo damage, messing up in mule or BT areas and getting taken off, running out of battery, having it out in the rain too long and it gets destroyed, or like you said submerged.
but the exo skeletons are really just for players who want the on-foot gameplay with a sort of handicap towards one area of game, same with the trike, just another option to play the game with.

That's what I've experienced. I think I lost a trike when it fell about 20m into a crevasse but I've been able to (fairly easily) pogo stick jump the trike up to the weather station in chapter 3, if done right (you boost on the back wheel, hit an obsticle then hit juno right after you get catapulted right up into the air and over whatever you're jumping, then on landing you do the same and basically bounce the trike on its back wheel most of the way there) lots of the chapter 3 terrain seems to be easy to navigate.

Maybe the directors cut will bring flat tyres, axle damage and other stuff that makes it wiser to walk through certain areas. However whether the directors cut will be on PC isn't yet known and it'll probably be paid DLC/standalone.
