I "died" and now there's a huge hole in the middle of nowhere.
I'm afraid I already know the answer, will the hole disappear?

Actually, no it will be there forever. To the OP, if it is in a really bad place, you could always just start from an earlier save (if you still have a save from before).

That wouldn't be funny. It's a mechanic for a reason.

Thats a mechanic??

This is in fact a mechanic. It's demonstrated in the beginning of the game, before you start in Capital Knot City, in fact. On the Corpse Disposal Run gone bad, it triggers a Voidout, and the result is a giant crater the shape of a hand. It's all pretty clearly telegraphed to the player before they even take control, that's the consequence of failure.

In my defense, I got stuck between a building and a car. The camera was horrible and I couldn't see anything.

Voidout craters do go away. I had two happen in my game and they both eventually disappeared.

they go away. I die sometimes on purpose so players can see my link. and if they want to die there as you swim you will find dead players near you to connect to make your bridge link list wider.

Yeah, i purposely tested voidout at Eastern Region (opposite river from 1st mule camp, not far from NPC postbox from George Baton), it will disappear after long period of time.

So if you die you create a voidout? Im so confused, for some reason I thought failing to kill BT's would trigger a voidout or something so i've always killed the ones that catch me lmao. nice to know that I create the voidouts when i die. I've only been to the seam once tho and i dont remember exploding. I fell off a cliff tho so maybe that's why.

It is specifically when a BT kills a human that causes a voidout. Sam causes small craters due to his ability to repatriate, normal people cause massive craters. It is why you can keep playing after Sam gets killed by a BT but you get an actual game over if anyone else gets killed by a BT.
