Sam is walking diagonally!

Of course, I realised pretty quick that you dont really walk straight, but at a slight angle, wether from left or right. Now sometimes this angle is really wide and I cant see the whole left side of the screen (or right) to hold Sam walking into the direction I want. Any countermeasures or thoughts of you on that matter?
