Windows 7 support
Am I correct in assuming this game does not work under windows 7 at all. Right?
That is a real shame as I wanted to buy this game and was actually waiting for it for close to a year.

May I ask why you remain on Windows 7? I agree it was a very reliable and stable Windows OS edition, but it is out of support now and it makes sense to upgrade to Windows 10.
If you must know, because the downsides of windows 10 out weight the benefits.
While there is one game I want to play that is on windows 10 there is a host of issues I find with windows 10 that simply make it not worth it.
If it's any help Death Stranding works on Ubuntu with Steam Proton as long as your hardware supports it.

Correct. System requirements state Windows 10.

This game released after Windows 7 support ended.

You are running the risk of having an unsupported Windows OS, not mention as time goes on less and less new games will work on it.

There is literally thousands upon thousands of games that work on win 7, or even work better on win 7.
At the rate it is currently going it will take decades before there is enough windows 10 exclusive games that will make it worth it to make the jump. And I hope by that point we have better alternatives, such as linux or something.
Currently if somebody payed me I wouldn't deal with windows 10 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. And if I am going to move away from win 7 it's to linux. Windows 10 is just too much cancer.

WIndows 7 is EOL, support is ended for good, let it RIP

Some people said the same type of things about sticking with Windows 98 instead of upgrading to Windows XP, or about sticking with Windows XP over upgrading to Windows 7. There will be die-hards who won't let go of their old OS. I wonder if they are still sticking to Windows 98/XP now? Maybe some are.

In reality, Windows 10 does have superior gaming capabilities compared with Windows 7. Windows 7 can still play many games, but there's no guarantee new games will support it in the future. This will become more the case with additional time.

Game consoles, phones/tablets, or alternative PC operating systems (Mac, Linux, etc.) may offer a viable alternative, if you prefer to avoid Windows 10 on PC at all costs.

I actually installed W10 on a separate drive to be able to play Death Stranding. I do have a few older, came out in the XP era, games that I haven't tested in W10 yet. But I am sure I won't have any trouble. I held on to W7 just until Death Stranding when I said enough is enough. If my older games no longer work on W10, then I will just eventually either keep W7 on its own drive or build a "vintage" gaming PC. The vintage PC will most likely be the route to go since there will come a point where you can't even get W10 and beyond drivers anymore.

I was very against upgrading to W10 on my gaming PC for a very long time, but it came to a point where you realize certain things that you want simply won't work on W7.

Some have also said performance goes up, and some had said performance goes down with W10. I ran a few games and guess what? I saw zero difference.

I know W10 has a titanic mountain of useless bloatware and spyware, but I turned as much as I could off, and I've slowly remove useless things.

Revo Uninstaller helps in removing unwanted apps. It also cleans the registry.

Only when a better option comes along.

Considering I was around back then and made the switch then and not now, it seems to be really hard for some people to comprehend that it's not changing OS per say that's the problem, is that the option you are supposed to "upgrade to" feels like a downgrade.
Windows 10 is not an option for me, even if it's free it comes with too much downsides for me and the only upside, is that I can play one or two games I can't play on windows 7.
Death stranding is good, I really would want to buy it, but not that good that I would install windows 10.

I tested it myself as well, which is why I am so adamant about not using it. As it is, microsoft would have to pay me to use windows 10, that's right, even if it was free, it comes pack with so much ♥♥♥♥ and downsides for me that I can't stand to use it.

Believe me I know. I know! I was strictly W7 on my gaming pc for that very reason up until Death Stranding came out. But the more I watched videos of Death Stranding, the more I wanted it. I finally jumped the gun, installed W10 and Death Stranding. 260+ hours later at playing Death Stranding I am happy I did.

As someone who work on computers since early 2000, the benefits of windows 10 surpass GREATLY the downsides. Findings drivers, actual troubleshooting, better windows performance, faster boot, more features.

You are just making up ♥♥♥♥ you read online and are the "anti-progress" gang that would stick to windows 95 if they could.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9CFIDz2hgd8

Literally every game they show you have 2 OR 3 FPS lower. Imagine thinking it's worth staying behind for 3 FPS lol And that is with DirectX 11, which Direct 12 is better looking, more features.

You can turn off all the unwanted ♥♥♥♥ you are talking about.

But keep playing on windows 7 my dude, have fun not playing new games.

Maybe stop using an unsupported and EoL OS?

Disagree.

I don't have any issues finding drivers for anything I use. Are you some kind of ♥♥♥♥ tech support that can only press auto update from windows and people pay you money for that?

actual troubleshooting,
Troubleshootin what? Everything works without issues, no updates that break your OS or anything. I haven't had to troubleshoot even once.
better windows performance, [/quote]
Disable Aero if you care about performance so much. Or better yet use linux which has even better performance, but no you must suck off windows 10 for something is supposedly does and gets beaten by in linux.

Mate....My windows boots in seconds. Just get an SSD, chirst. I have no idea what kind of looney you have to be to switch OS to have a faster boot by like 1-2 seconds.

more features.
What features, always online spyware, your data being sold out, no control over your OS and updates that are forced on you anytime Microsoft wants, not when you want, or even need?

You sound like a literal shill, considering you have no evidence to back up your claims and in fact, you yourself provide evidence that windows 10 performs worse. So not only do you get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ over, you get worse performance for all your trouble and you call this "better windows performance"

You can't, you can turn off the notification about it and sweep it under the rug metaphorically speaking but a lot of the cancer cannot be removed, only hidden form yourself.

How long has windows 10 been out? HOW MANY YEARS? And how many games has it produced as exclusives that you think I want to play one, literally one.
You are mental dude. Literally maximum shilling and cope "all the bad things aren't true, and even if they are true, they don't matter, you should get it, because you get worse performance, but you should get it, because.....AHH you can't just use something old! No I will not use a latest linux build, I will use years old windows 10 myself! Thats because microsoft has told me to do that and I wont think for myself, I refer all my judgement to a corporation"
