What happens with your L ratings if you change difficulty?
I have like 469 Ls, but there is an achievement that requires 80 LLs or LLLs. I'm going to grind up to 500 Ls. What will happen to these if I change difficulty?

Can I save the game with 500 Ls, switch difficulty, grind 80 LLs and then load that save so my banner still shows 500 Ls? Or, maybe I can switch back to normal difficulty at 80 LLs and have 500 Ls again?

They'll stay intact. When you achieve an LoLoL rating for a delivery you've already completed, the higher rating supercedes the lower one. :dsfist:

The only downside to changing difficulties is if you change them while you already have a mission, as like the game warns you it will count jobs as the lowest difficulty you ever had the game set to while you had em.

Which is perfectly fair, and also means no pointless extra rain durability loss on long trucking trips just to haul stacks of your own stash of alloy and chemical barrels cross country making you stop to swap trucks or sleep, because simply repairing it means you gotta drag every barrel back out of private storage.

But which counter will be shown on the banner? The one that corresponds to my current difficulty or the amount of highest ratings I've got? (ex: if 500 Ls -> 499 Ls + 1 LLs, banner will show just 1 LLs or I can make it so it shows 500 Ls no matter what?)

The ranking depends on the mission completed. So if you complete a mission on the Very Hard difficulty and S rank it, you will receive a gold LoLoL for that mission.

I think (not sure) that if you S rank a mission on Very Hard you get the gold LoLoL for that mission, but all the other awards (Normal, Hard) as well.

*The LoLoL counter will be shown on the banner. And you can see how many of each Ls, LLs, LLLs you have on your porter page.

But I have never seen banners with like "49 L / 80 LL / 120 LLL", only "49 L" or "80 LL" or "120 LLL" (I mean on buildings, not the page).

Oh, that. It defaults to your higher difficulty symbols, if you have any.

For example, when I started grabbing very hard S ranks, if I move back down to normal (at least to my own display) it still showed my small collection of LLL marks, rather than my larger pile of baby L marks. On my bridge link menu, floating over my truck, etc.

Can't exactly say what that looks like to other people, but safe bet they would only see my 50+ LLL and not my giant pile of single L I used to display.

Honestly, I'm more impressed by people only one timed delivery level away from Great Deliverer with ZERO L's of any kind. Now THAT, is dedication. I'm just imagining how long that would take with less rank gains per mission, like some kind of bizzaro world challenge run.

EDIT: If you are curious about your overall progress, locations on the map will list each difficulty level's L ranks for each type. Though I could see wishing there was a more clear display on the menu of where your overall rankings are without skimming the map.

So... any idea how can I keep my 500 L and still get the achievement for 80 LL (or LLL)?

I'm thinking about making a manual save, but I'm not sure whether it will be still available later on (I didn't check yet, but I think older saves are automatically removed, so I have to either backup the file or manually load it from time to time and save again, so it becomes a "fresher" one). But, if banner does not update from the save and it's just stored somewhere on servers, that won't work.

I'd rather not have the achievement than kinda erase the 500 L progress from the banner, so that's why I'm asking if someone knows how that works.

It will show the highest difficulty you have done, though it keeps track of all the levels in your bridge link profile. They also stack, so doing a delivery on the highest also adds one to all the lower levels.

Edit:
Also the data seems to be stored in your save file, so you can reverse it.

OK, so I checked that out.

TL;DR: you can reverse it by loading an earlier save.

Now a little bit more detailed description of what I've done if someone's interested:
- I had a save with 482 L on Normal;
- I've changed difficulty to Very Hard and loaded an earlier save with 481 L;
- I did a premium delivery and got LLL, so my banner started showing 1 LLL;
- I've loaded the 482 L save and my banner was showing 482 L.

Obviously, I don't know how exactly does it appear to other players, and I hope it syncs with what I see when I play. But what really mattered to me is that I would see the 500 L banner, not the 80 LLL. If it will show 80 LLL to everyone else, I'm fine with it.
