But Death Stranding has far more robust KB+M options than most games so you should be okay if you will literally die if you touch a controller. As they offer Toggle switch options in the menu for the cargo balancing if you play with KB+M, etc.
So this is a game where I would say "Try both to see what you like more" rather than roll my eyes like people declaring they only ever play Darksouls or Devil May Cry with KB+M
After 20 hours i changed completely to mouse and keyboard, not for a particular reason, it just feels better to me.
It's faster. A lot of menu items are on separate keys where the gamepad has to share a lot of things on the same inputs. For example, sometimes using a gamepad you will have two actions on a single face button. One action for pressing, another for holding. With KBM you just click which of the two options you want and it's done. There are tons of things like this. Gamepads simply don't have enough buttons for all of the actions. Some of them aren't even bound and you have to menu to find them. On KBM, you can bind everything to a key. It's far more streamlined and faster.
But the controller has a different feel to it. Certain things feel better, like using the triggers to balance and to pick up and hold cargo in the hand. Using the L/R mouse buttons to do this doesn't have the same feel.
