road decaying ? still usable or completly disapear ?

if I don't repair road after initial construction, will it stay somehow usable (perhaps without the battery line ?) or it will collapse fall apart / destroy ?

Roads dont really get destroyed when there are other players around, everytime someone puts materials in the building boxes it restores your road durability. Unless you are playing offline.

I had to contribute materials to repair roads after 60+ hours of playing, so yes, roads do decay, but the rate is very slow. And the part of road that needed it, was under constant timefall. Other areas decay even slower.

Wait for them to go slightly under 50%, then 800metals should do the job to repair them, it takes dozen of hours for them to decay to that point though.

After 100 hours, i only have had to repair the section between Lake Knot City and South Knot city once.

Actually quite a good question. I usually repair them myself if nobody else has before they even get that far, but it makes me curious as to what happens if they actually do reach 0% durability.

After 130+ hours (last half offline) I haven't even attempted to repair my roads and at this point over half of the sections are completely gone/broken. At this point in the game I'm not bothered much as I use ziplines most of the time.

I dont think it actually works that way.

Structures (and I want to say roads too, but not 100% sure) only seem to deteriorate whilst you're actively playing, not while you're offline. All of my structures that I built last November on the PS4 version seemed to be still standing in great condition when I logged back into my PS4 copy two weeks ago to check my likes.

Later in the game it starts to rain heavily everywhere. If you've let a road go below 50% durability before this it will be gone when you have to travel from Edge Knot City to Lake Knot City. The rain is so heavy that visibility is seriously reduced so driving off the road when you reach the destroyed area is likely and it's hard to find the paver to fix it. Destroyed roads have to be rebuilt from scratch while repairing them only requires a small amount of whichever material you have lots of. That's usually metal, although by this part of the game you will probably have a lot of chiral crystals.
