See... Valkyria Chonicles was a black sheep on gameboys but once it reached the audience that appreciates an almost masterpiece stuff instead of blindly follow shallow mainstream called PC audience, VC sales got so good the game got another sequel that wasn't a timed exclusive but got released on PC the first day. And it was success.
I would also love to see a sequel.
DLC? Please don't. DLC mania ruined videogames.
Then Kojima called.
And Reedus had no idea what's Kojima talking about (imagine if someone was trying to explain this game to you before you finished it) but he answered what Del Toro suggested. Yes.
The rest is history.

Or high?
For context a quick google suggested Death Stranding sold 3 million copies on ps4 (which didn't seem like a big success to Kojima tho i heard the same thing, that it was technically a success) and development cost was around $100 million.
SteamSpy estimates 500k - 1m people purchased DS on steam
500k x 80$ - steam's 30% cut = $28 million
1m x 80$ - steam's 30% = $56 million
I don't really know how a dev company would see this in terms of success, but it doesn't seem to bad to me
8k ps4 positive reviews vs 10k positive steam reviews so far :)
The number's i did the math for was the pc version the development cost i showed was for the whole thing not just the pc port, I didn't include the est $210 million that the 3 million ps4 copies generated.
From what I can gather, it seems like it's either more DS or a horror game.

As much as I'd like an successor to this, consider kojima in the past.
Read up what he stated during mgs4 development, developing another successor for a series he said he'd like it to be finished with after the third game.
My word is as wortless as any posts on this or any other forum, it is just an opinion. But if you can spare the time, read it (if you haven't by now).
