16:10 resolutions?
Where they are?

I can set just 16:9 or ulrawidescreen. Is this a joke?

There are so few resolutions in game. Even for 16:9 I see only 1280x720 and 1920x1080. And for window mode there is only 1280x720 and widescreen (and no bordeless window unfortunately).

waiting for fix because thats impossible. Older games have better resolution than this

Same problem here. I have 1680*1050. But game set me only 1780*720. It's hurts.

i have 16:10 1680:1024 but i can choose only 16:9 1024:720 and 21:9 1680:720 that kinda sucks

I will wait for an official response from the developer and if the situation turns out to be unsolvable, I will think about the return of funds. Buying a new monitor for one game is too fat.

Same here. I have a 1680x1050 sreen but I'm playing at 1680x720... The quality isn't very good.

You can hex edit the game to set a custom resolution, do it.

How? Can You discribe?
Acquire Jul 15, 2020 @ 11:25pm
The game doesn't have dynamic (any aspect ratio and pixel count) resolution support as one might hope. It specifically supports two aspect ratios: 16:9 (1.78:1) and 21:9 (2.33:1). 21:9 support here is literal 21:9 as it's narrower than what most 21:9 resolutions we've come to know are, which are around 2.38:1. This was probably done for artistic reasons. There's a lot of cutscenes and when widening them they mentioned they had to do a lot of work to make sure the framing and all that still looked good per what Kojima wanted to convey on that scene. He also wanted consistency between the gameplay and cutscenes for aspect ratio. I doubt they're going to update it to support any other aspect ratios. Maybe they'll add more dynamic resolution support within those aspect ratios. Right now it has a predefined list of resolutions it supports. So, even if you have a resolution that fits into one of the selected aspect ratios, if it's not in their list you can't select it. I guess they figured it was easier this way and you'd just bump up to the next closes resolution and use DLSS to overcome playing at a higher resolution. The game is being bundled by nvidia with rtx cards after all.

Unofficially, you can hex edit the game from what I've read it seems to work.

I've got the same problem. My resolution is 1440x900 and can only pick 720p, and stupidly enough some ultrawide resolutions.
Some might think that the slight jump form 720p to a 900p wouldn't make much of a difference, but man... it does look bad.

If the devs can pull off something like Dark Souls does for 16:10 screens (the use of black bars at the top and bottom of the screen to mantain the 16:9 aspect ratio and still render the game at your native resolution) that would come in just perfect. :2017catheart:

Also, about the hex editing thing, I tried it and it just zooms in your view, making your FOV smaller, sooo not really a good solution. :cozycastondeath:

I have 16:10 - 1680x1050 monitor as well.

I emailed support and they said this.

"Hi,

Thank you for contacting 505 Games support. I'm sorry that you're having this issue.

We've been made aware of the lack of resolution options and have escalated the problem to the Death Stranding team.

Hopefully, this is something that we can have resolved soon.

Let's hope they will fix it in good time or there's going to be a lot of annoyed people if they don't.

Well, 1600x900 is litterally a 16:9 resolution but it's not available.
It seems the game's 16:9 ratio resolutions are either 720p or 1080p. I won't mind playing at 1080p if the game could downsample it to my 900p on the go. To bypass this, I have to use a script to change my resolution to 1080p using DSR, but that doesn't look as sharp as a native resolution.

have they already added 19:10 support?

well its almost a year later now... did they fix it already?
lol i guess not, i just installed the game.. also running on a 16:10 with 1400x900 max res, cant select this in game either. i can play every other game on 1400x900 but not this one. funny thing is i ordered a new gpu and got death stranding especially for that to check its graphic capabilities xD (i really should get a new monitor tho, i know.. its coming next)
