Xbox One controller issues with RT

Hello,

I have rather odd problem with controller, the RT button.
It works while zooming and throwing granades, however it does not do anything at all when trying to place a structure, to grab something in right hand or for balancing. At all, no reaction whatsoever.

Any idea what could cause this? I have tried it plugged and wireless, tried calibration, tested all buttons work fine and even connected second older Xbone controller, but came to have the very same issue, drivers up to date as well, restored keybinds ingame to default multiple times too just in case.

Would be very gratefull for any clue what could possibly cause this.

Yeah, I already restarted all that can be restarted multiple times at this point with no change I'm afraid.

Im usung an xbox elite 2 controller and honestly havent noticed this, id guess its a steam controller issue rather than the actual controller, try turning the steamcontroller off or on and see if that works...

Apparently, this game does something strange with controllers. I've read about people complaining their FPS tanks when connecting one, although I haven't experienced that.

Personally, I'm getting 'ghost inputs'. Sometimes, the last button I used repeats 1-3 times, but only sometimes. It hasn't gotten me killed yet, but it's still annoying when the bike uses turbo, toggles off, on and off again in quick succession.

Oh, and before you ask, no it doesn't happen with any other game. Whenever I have the controller's device settings open to monitor inputs, it oddly behaves itself perfectly. I'll just chalk it up to BTs.

Yeah if you get lag some people say turning off vibration fixes it, but mines ok so not sure...

I've had multiple issues with my wired xbox one controller. I had to really increase the deadzone in the options, and sometimes Sam does random things without me even pressing buttons. Crouching nonstop, opening map. Sometimes in the map menu the cursor just goes off on it's own. I have zero issues with any other game, and there's good chunks of gameplay where I have no problems. So idk what's really going on.

Tried to run with and without Big picture, force steam inputs off, everything else, also tried 3 controllers, wired and not ar this point, but Right Trigger button always does not register for building, picking up or balance, but does work for zooming, throwing and shooting.

I really. REALLY do not understand what the hell is going on there.

Have you found solution? I have exact same issue after going back to the game. I didn't used controller much so I doubt it could be issue with controller itself. Before break the controller in this game worked flawlessly. Very strange is I can throw grenades, zoom in map with RT, but not shoot or accelerate truck.

Same issue for me too. All was working fine yesterday. But now my right trigger won't work either. I've tried two controllers. And the trigger works just fine with other games.

Oddly enough, the right trigger seems to work fine when zooming in on the map. But won't work at all when I try to grab for balance, or building. And, it accelerates the truck, but only to a super slow speed. All works fine on KB & M, and I've reset all controller settings just in case. So strange and frustrating.

Hi, i have the exact problem! And im not using steam. Im on Epic. I use xbox one controller. Any solution?

There's a discussion about "phantom" commands....its getting a bit annoying but it comes and goes.....its not just RT...but it will be X and LT too. Hoping they clean it up when they get done with their rumored remaster.

I gave up on trying to solve it and just wired the wireless, with brand new controller. It solves like 95% of the control issues, even if it is annoying to put cables where you specifically paid to not have any. I have no idea what the problems is.
