After you download it, press ''browse local files'' if you don't want to use the Steam music player.
And I have checked the soundtracks section of my library multiple times, and it's still not there.
For starters, keep in mind that the soundtrack is only available if you pre-ordered the game prior to launch on the 14th to get the Day One Edition. If you bought it after that point, you're probably out of luck for the time being.
Now, for folks that are having trouble locating the OST, I want you to hop over to your Library, and click on the button that says "Show only installed games". Now, to the left of that button is a drop down menu, click it and make sure that "Soundtracks" is selected, then scroll down to the bottom of the list and depending on the size of your library you should see a bunch of different soundtracks that you own, and this is where the Death Stranding OST should be located.
If that doesn't help, I'd recommend checking out this link: https://505games.com/death-stranding-pc-community-faq-guide-july-2020/ for 505's FAQ regarding the game, or going to https://support.505games.com/ and submitting a ticket or chat support request to 505, as they are the ones who are the ones who handled the port.
Pre-Purchase before July 14th, 2020 to receive the below items:
• HD Wallpapers
• CHIRAL GOLD and OMNIREFLECTOR “SAM” SUNGLASSES (COLOR VARIANT)
• CHIRAL GOLD and OMNIREFLECTOR CAP (COLOR VARIANT)
• GOLD and SILVER SPEED SKELETON
• GOLD and SILVER ARMOUR PLATE LV2 AND ABOVE
Additionally, you will receive all Day One content as well:
• DEATH STRANDING Original Score Expanded Edition digital soundtrack by Ludvig Forssell, including 10 unreleased bonus tracks.
• “Selections From ‘The Art of DEATH STRANDING’” Digital Book (by Titan Books)
• CHIRAL GOLD and OMNIREFLECTOR “LUDENS MASK” SUNGLASSES (COLOR VARIANT)
• GOLD and SILVER POWER SKELETON
• GOLD and SILVER ALL-TERRAIN SKELETON
• GOLD and SILVER ARMOUR PLATE
NVIDIA RTX 20 Series GPUs bundled with DEATH STRANDING will also receive all of the content listed above.
So I want the sountrack that I am due.
And I am not the only one with this issue. If you search the discussions by using the term sountrack you will find out many who used the NVIDIA RTX voucher have the same issue.
Interesting, that sounds like it's an issue with what was assigned to the code then. Did you get the gold and silver armour/skeletons? If not then it sounds like the codes aren't giving the Day One content like they were supposed to.
All of that to say, you should probably contact 505 Support like I mentioned above, as they'd be the ones who could set things right. Again, this isn't Kojima nor Kojima Productions, this was 505 handling things (and as an aside, they've screwed logistics up with stuff before).
I am a bit disappointed they had to go with basic MP3 320 instead of a good FLAC open lossless format.
I dunno why company still do MP3 in 2020.
Good job Ludvig (& the singer) on BB's theme, nicely done. And the in-game licensed musics feat perfectly too. Would have liked to play them sometimes in the open with a "walkman" like tool.

So according to this even those who activated the game by using an NVIDIA voucher should get the sountrack. You should mention this on the official site.
Also, I hope that those who used the NVIDIA voucher to activate the game at least get all the other bonuses, even if the OST is actually not included (didn't get to unlock much of the bonuses in the game to check if I got the rest of the bonuses).
