Buttons pressing again even after letting go

I'm not really sure how to explain this issue properly. I'm not sure if it's an issue with controllers specifically or not, since I just use a controller. There's an issue that keeps popping up, and it's really starting to annoy me. When I press a button, let go, and press another button, that previous button is pressed again. I first noticed it in the beginning cinematics, when you can move the camera around and zoom in. When I pressed the zoom button (RS/R3), let go, and then moved the camera, it would quickly zoom in then out. Later on I started noticing this when selecting tools. I'd press right on the D-pad, select my item, and when I pressed LT(L2) to "aim" the tool, it would put the tool away, as if I tapped the D-pad again. Anyone else have this issue/a fix for it? It seems so minor, but man it's getting really annoying.

TEMPORARY FIX:

So far the only conclusive thing I've been able to find to fix this is to wait until the main menu to plug your controller in or turn it on. If you notice any issues in game, a simple reconnect may fix it. Replug/turn your controller off then on, should (temporarily) fix the issue. M&K users will have more of a hassle doing this, as I'm sure your plugs are in the back of your PCs and hard to reach, but wireless M&K users might have it easier, being able to just turn their devices off then on.

I've tried this about 5 times now over the course of a few days and have had 0 issues every time I just wait for the main menu before turning my controller on. I suggest whoever finds this tries this until they patch it.

Odd. I have this occasionaly and could not put a finger on it.Xbox one wired as well.

I am using Wireless DS4 and face this all the time. Kind of irritating but i just go back and unselect.

Hoping for a fix soon.

We also suggest turning off V-Sync and checking if you're are using any kind of third-party security software, streaming/recording software, performance monitoring software, or post-processing software.

If you are, please note that you may experience issues with performance or other abnormal behaviors related to these and other programs, as such , please make sure no other programs are running in the background while playing the game and verify your game files.

If the issue persists after trying the above, please let us know if the issue happens at a specific point in time or location within the game and a summary of the graphical settings in use.

i have some control issues as well, especially on the bike. If i come across a bt then Sam flips out and its like the controls become inverted, or maybe trying to play as a drunk driver. Cant tell you how many times ive bumped into bts because he feels the need start driving backwards

nope he was only doing dumb bs on bts on chap 1, now im in chap 3 and Sam is literally doing wtf ever he wants.
Got into a fight with some mules and instead of throwing a box, a punch, or using his gun, he just runs around in a circle regardless of what button i press. So i just set the controller down, went to the fridge granned a beer, Sam is still twirling around while mules kick his teeth in. They knock him out finally and the game asks me if id like to resume, and all i can say is altf4 no i really dont untill they patch this ♥♥♥♥

The problem isn't performance, tf are they talking about? Performance is exactly the same whether a controller is plugged in or not. That's some level of support I remember from the RDR2 launch. They had the worst support and the website looks exactly the same too so I'm a bit scared.

I'm having this issue as well. Seems to happen when my computer is running really hard and I hit a button -- then it gets locked into pressing repeatedly:

get on vehicle, get off, devastating combo, get on vehicle.
turn on boosters navigating treacherous terrain, turn off, turn on, lose control.
my least favorite is the camera shoulder change happening repeatedly.

I agree, if it was a hardware issue on my pc id be getting frame drops etc. Its probably just an error being compatible with the other game pads since its a port. I do use a Sony DS3, but it uses similar drivers to the x360 on win10, because the ds3 doesnt have native support.

Xbone controllers too, and I think the game is using Steaminput for controllers.

In fact Steam client or whatever the other day as part of it's patch notes had something about performance and gamepads in Death Stranding.

Guys, that's not even a controller issue, I get the same behaviour while using mouse + keyboard.
