An advice to stutterers
CPU and GPU is not everything. What creates the bottleneck is the slowest part of your setup - which today may be a slow storage device, i.e. hard disk. Did you install to that old, trusty HDD clunker? It just might not have enough I/O throughput to move the assets to VRAM and RAM in time. More RAM and VRAM (and corresponding configuration changes to increase chache sizes) can sometimes help, but having a fast M2 NvE SSD dist today for demanding games is a must.

2070 Super, 9900k, 16gb of RAM, running on an SSD. Stuttering.

Game is installed on a PCIE 4.0 M.2 NVME SSD. Ryzen 3950X with 2080 Ti watercooled and overclocked. Still stutters.

Please don't assume everyone experiencing the stuttering are on subpar hardware.

He's helping out. A lot of people do often think big GPU = big fps, but that's not always the case.

That being said, the stutters, assuming they're the same as I had, will stop after the beginning portion of the game, after the rain.

A lot are. Often people think having a fat GPU means you'll have a lot of fps and everything will work perfectly. Reality is that a lot of people do not understand hardware configuration can play a big part in it too, or simply having the wrong settings, nor understanding your refresh rate of your monitor, etc.

He's trying to help, stop shooting him down for it.

Yeah sure, lol
I read that only a PS5 SSD can handle this beast.

Home built pc, 2080 ti, 10700k, 32gb corsair 3600 ram. No stutter here @4k144z, all maxed with DLSS. Maybe spend more money next time. Also, to OP, my game is installed on a regular SATA based 960 evo ssd and not a single stutter in the 90ish minutes I've played thus far. The game runs better than I ever could have hoped.

I'm not particularly bothered if the stuttering dies down like people say it does.
Can anybody tell me they haven't had any stuttering?

I'm wondering if this is something that will definitely happen or not.

3-way sli hasn't been a thing in a few generations, get your pathological lying ass out of here and go flex your stupidity elsewhere. The game stutters, we get it. Telling us what you want for a pc and also not knowing how to configure it, isn't doing anyone any good.

Same here, installed on an nvme ssd. but i'm running it buttersmooth with 16.6ms without any stutters. how ? with a bit of knowledge and experience. i've a trashy old system, a gtx 980ti and an ryzen 2600x and it runs maxed out so perfect, i'Ve never seen such graphics with such a performance. my gpu rarely goes above 75% load (in 1080p60 ofc).

1. put your gpu to "prefer maximum performance" in your nvidia driver for this game only.. this helps against most stutters

2. limit your framerate with rtss (riva tuner statistics server, part of msi afterburner) to whatever you want. i limited it to 60fps and i'm getting perfect frametimes (16.6ms without even going to 16.5 or .7) and a buttersmooth experience.

those tips can be used for most games these days and they fix most games to make them buttersmooth with perfect frametimes :D:D:D
