Game won't stay fullscreen
Everytime I start a level, die, or go into the video settings, the game resets back to windowed mode. On top of that, if I switch it to Virtual fullscreen, it disables my video output to my monitor entirely. This is honestly unacceptable.

On my system, I was having a hard time to get the game to go fullscreen and when it did, it would switch back if I died or would get any sort of transition.

The High DPI scaling is the issue and overriding it resolves it. My Windows 10 resolution is set to 4k and my scaling is set to 150%. A lot of games and programs have issues when scaling is not set to 100%.

What you need to do is the following:

-In your Steam library right click on the game and select "Browse Local Files"
-Right click on PumpkinJack.exe
-Click on Properties
-Click on the Compatibility tab
-Click on Change High DPI settings
-Do NOT touch the top part called Program DPI
-In the section called High DPI scaling override, do the following:
---Put a checkmark in the box called Override high DPI scaling behavior.
---Leave Scaling performed by: set to Application
Click on OK
Click on OK again

Your game should stay Fullscreen now.

Doing what I indicated above, will only apply the override for this game.

i've got the same problem, it shrinks down to like a quarter of the screen, every time the game transitions, if i switch the resolution down then back up it fixes it but only til i die, or a new video plays etc.

Yea, same. On one hand I'm glad I'm not alone in this, but on another, I'm upset that it's even happening at all. I just want to play the game, but on a 4k 28' monitor, it's impossible like that lol.

I was having the same issue running the game under DirectX12. Switching to DirectX11 fixed it for me.

Thanks for reporting this issue!

The only way to fix the problem right now is to do as Maikeru_PC did, which is switching to DirectX11. As this is not a real fix to the issue, we are going to check out what is wrong and try to fix it.

I'll update you with the news and if we manage to find a fix, it will be available on the next patch coming after the end of the Christmas event. Really sorry about this.

Thank you very much for the reply. I wasn't expecting that lol. I did try that fix, but unfortunately it didn't work. I'll just wait for the next patch.

And still waiting on that. That being said, so far the DX11 fix has worked for me.

I've just started this, and am having the same issue. I'm running in DX11 but no joy. Anyone know if this is getting fixed any time, or anything else I can try?

this was really disappointing to have it suffer at launch . I played demo normally as I recall . this makes it almost unplayable . how do I set it to DX11 ?

Select Direct X when it asks how you want to launch then select DX11 from the drop down
A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
