Hello everyone! Welcome to the fifth weekly post introducing NecroLand: Undead Corps.

With the release of NecroLand: Undead Corps only one week away, we'd like to briefly discuss the game's items and artifacts. This information is just as important as understanding how each Alpha Unit functions - the effects of items and artifacts are considerable, and they can give you very different strategic and tactical options!


Items

While you're roaming around and defeating feral undeads, you will sometimes see them dropping a usable item. It could be a flame turret that sprays a stream of flame at nearby enemies when installed. It could be a healing item with the power to save your Alpha Unit's life during a fierce battle. There are lots of different items to discover. Whatever it is, you can save up to three of them in your inventory (or four, depending on your artifact setting, which we'll discuss in a minute) and use them in a clutch moment to turn the tables on your opponent. Who knows? Using an item at the right time just might make you the last survivor!


Artifacts

In NecroLand: Undead Corps, you can equip artifacts to enhance your Alpha Unit's ability. You get artifacts by opening up Artifact Boxes that cost 10 Tech Points for each. (Tech Points can be earned by playing matches.)

You can equip four artifacts to directly enhance the stats of your troops, like Health Points, Damage and Armor. However, the artifacts' effects don't kick in right away at the start of a match. Instead, you will see your Alpha Unit leveling up as you play matches.

The effects are unlocked at Level 3, 6, 9 and 12. When your Alpha Unit reaches Level 12, all the effects of your equipped artifacts will be enabled... and as a special bonus, the effects of the artifact you equipped in the fourth slot will be doubled! Thus, it's important to keep strategy in mind when choosing the order of equipped artifacts. Ask yourself questions like, what should be unlocked first? And which artifact would be most effective when doubled?

In addition to the standard artifacts, you also have five slots for equipping utility artifacts. These enhance the items you use; for example, increasing the range of flame turrets, or increasing the effect of a healing item, and so on. Sometimes you will find a utility artifact that will increase the rewards you get after each match, too! You don't have to level up to activate utility artifacts; their effects are always active as long as you have them equipped.

Do you have too many unnecessary artifacts in your inventory? Why not test your luck and try merging them into something new and different? You can place up to five artifacts into a special machine and press the Merge button for a chance to get something better than what you put into it. Try merging five 1-star artifacts and see if you can get a 3-star artifact!

Today we're going to talk about the last three Alpha Units we haven't shown: Vulture, Brawn and Rabid. These genetically manipulated units look very different from the rest of the crowd and use unique, deadly skills that can be considered "wild cards." These alpha units are also unlockable like Dark alpha units. At the end of this post, we are also going to briefly introduce the Defense co-op mode so please continue reading!


Vulture

Vulture has a genetic modification that triggers rapidly developed intelligence. He's good at manufacturing and calculating explosives; he collects ancient remnants and toxic gases to create explosive devices and bombards enemies with them. His grenades can hit multiple enemies from a distance at once!

Vulture goes "big brain" when it comes to his special skill. He throws a special "trap" grenade, one that does no damage to the enemy. What's so great about a grenade that doesn't inflict any damage? Well, when a enemy is hit by this skill, it cannot move for several seconds - it can't chase you, and it can't run away.

Developer Comments: Vulture is like a grenadier, to put it simply. This warrior denies enemies getting in close, regardless of their number. The "Throw Trap" skill ties up an enemy's movement - which is especially useful in Duo mode, because your teammate can finish them off while they're stuck in one place.


Brawn

While Vulture is known for its intelligence, this bulked-up monster specializes in physical power. Brawn can pound the ground with its immense strength, causing shockwaves that can tear enemies apart. If any enemies are nearby, even those with reinforced armor will be shredded to death by Brawn's pounding attack.

Brawn's special skill maximizes the potential of its power. Its "Rush" skill charges into enemies in a matter of seconds, and anyone in the path of his charge will be stunned for a short amount of time. This allows Brawn to deal damage freely while enemies can't do anything until they recover from the stun.

Developer Comments: Because of its high health points and wide area-of-effect attack, we recommend Brawn to all players, from beginners to veterans. The Rush skill will be very useful for not only chasing down escaping enemies, but also for getting out of sketchy situations.


Rabid

This genetically and physically modified undead Alpha Unit can shoot gas bombs filled with a manipulated virus that can destroy even the undead by demolishing their central nerves. If any undead are enveloped by the deadly gas cloud, they will choke to death unless the gas fades away or they escape from it.

Actually escaping from Rabid's gas is not easy, as you are basically at his mercy once inside the gas radius. Rabid's special skill "Explode Gas" allows its gas to explode and deal huge amount of damage to whatever's inside the gas cloud. It doesn't matter how big your army is; it can disappear in a matter of seconds if you're not cautious when fighting against Rabid.

Developer Comments: We recommend Rabid and its special "Explode Gas" skill for players who are confident in their Alpha Unit control. If you're defending an area that needs to be secured at all costs, Rabid can handle it with no problem. Just cover up the area with gas and make it go boom to finish off any intruders.


About Defense Mode

In Defense mode, you can team up with three other players and fight off waves of enemy attacks to defend your main base. It's a cooperative mode, so you'll have to work together with your teammates, building up sufficient armies and defense around the main base. Fending off enemies gets increasingly more difficult after each wave.

For the majority of the time, you'll see groups of undead armies approaching your base. However, you also have to watch out for Boss enemies to invade after a certain number of waves. As the "Boss" tag suggests, these powerful enemies can erase you and your army if you ever decide to go 1v1 against them. You will definitely have to fight together with your teammates to deal with them properly or risk losing everything.

Try to stay alive as long as you can - the longer you survive, the more rewards you get from the game! This mode can be a great income method for players who need to take a rest from the competitiveness of Battle Royale and Duo mode, or if you just enjoy playing co-op with friends.

Hello everyone, and welcome back for another NecroLand: Undead Corps update!

Last week we introduced Alpha Incisor, Alpha Viper, and Alpha Barbecue. Today we'll take a closer look at their grimmer and grittier unlockable counterparts: Dark Incisor, Dark Viper, and Dark Barbecue. But it's not just their look that sets them apart, they also have their own unique skills that are very different from their Alpha versions.


Dark Incisor

Like its counterpart, Dark Incisor has fast movement speed and attacks from close range. But instead of the axe, it cuts down enemies by swinging a machete-like blade.

Dark Incisor's special skill is called "Physical Reinforcement." When activated, its movement and attack speed are boosted for a short period of time. This skill causes a substantial increase to the amount of damage inflicted per second, or DPS. During Physical Reinforcement, a player can move in close to an enemy more quickly than any other Alpha Units in the game, and deal a massive amount of burst damage.

Developer Comments: Dark Incisor may look similar to Alpha Incisor, but its very powerful Physical Reinforcement skill makes it more of a "small hulk" type, destroying everything in its path. We recommend Dark Incisor if you're looking for an Alpha Unit that's suitable for a highly aggressive play style.


Dark Viper

Just like Alpha Viper, Dark Viper has an acid-firing rifle and attacks the same way (from a safe distance). Have your minions charge at the enemy while you sit back and support them with your ranged firepower.

They may look similar, but Dark Viper has a more specialized skill when compared to its Alpha counterpart. Its "Snipe" skill has much higher damage output and longer aiming range. But there's a catch: It can only target enemy Alpha Units, not their troops.

Developer Comments: Dark Viper is a Viper unit that has developed its ranged attack ability to the maximum. Its "Snipe" skill can eliminate enemy Alpha Units easily, allowing you to absorb their armies. If you're looking to take out an enemy with one huge blow, then you must choose Dark Viper.


Dark Barbecue

Like Alpha Barbecue, this Alpha Unit brings a flamethrower to the battlefield and will torch anyone who comes within range. But what makes the enemies of Dark Barbecue turn extra crispy?

Instead of the long flame burst that Alpha Barbecue uses, Dark Barbecue can spray its flame in short bursts. It also "sticks" to anyone who comes in contact with the flame... even if it's just for a split second.

Developer Comments: Don't assume that all flames are the same! The flame from Dark Barbecue is something special, because its "Ignite" skill deals continuing damage over time to any enemy it touches. If you prefer harassing your enemies with a constant threat, Dark Barbecue is the way to go.


About Duo Mode

In Duo mode, you team up with either your friend or one random player and fight against four other teams. This mode is basically Battle Royale with a teammate. You'll have to work together and coordinate your efforts if you expect to be the last surviving team.

One unique feature of Duo Mode is that your teammate can respawn next to you a certain amount of time after they are killed, and vice versa. However, when you respawn, you will lose significant amount of leveling progress, all your items and your army, forcing you to start from scratch. So it's very important to stay alive as long as possible to preserve your strength. Of course, if both you and your teammate are killed, it means "game over" for your team.

For today's update, we're going to spotlight some of the game's playable Alpha Units, and take a quick look at NecroLand's primary game mode, Battle Royale!

In NecroLand: Undead Corps, there are nine different Alpha Units you can choose to play, and they all have their own unique attacks and skills. Today we're going to take a closer look at the three Alpha Units that are available at the start of the game: Alpha Incisor, Alpha Viper and Alpha Barbecue.


Alpha Incisor

Get up close and personal with Alpha Incisor! This Alpha Unit moves fast and fights without fear. Its rough but sharp saw-bladed axe will eliminate opponents with extreme cruelty.

Alpha Incisor can also throw its weapon when needed. And the axe won't stop when it hits an enemy - it'll cut right through and slice whatever's behind them, too!

Developer Comments: Alpha Incisor's normal attack hits only a single target at a time, which can be a disadvantage. However, it has high movement speed, so it can get to desirable resources faster. We recommend this Alpha Unit for players who are confident in their ability to micro-manage troops.
The axe-throwing skill is great for attacking multiple enemies at once, but the high damage means you can also use it to "snipe" an opposing Alpha Unit that might not be expecting a ranged attack!


Alpha Viper

Would you prefer to attack enemies from a distance? Alpha Viper carries acidic sniper guns than can pierce through almost anything with precision.

Alpha Viper's special skill is rapidly spraying a group of enemies with a wide blast radius. This works great when you encounter a big army and you need to turn the tide of battle quickly.

Developer Comments: Alpha Viper keeps enemies in check with its ranged attack from a safe distance. It's an advantage that will help conservative players to grow their armies more carefully while exploring the wasteland.


Alpha Barbecue

This Alpha Unit can ignite the poisonous gas generated from its body, scorching the battlefield with strong flames. It carries a flamethrower and a cast iron tank with a special flameproof gauge.

Alpha Barbecue can ramp up the firepower of its flamethrower for a limited time, dealing higher damage to nearby enemies. Note: He can't turn his body around while using this skill!

Developer Comments: With its "Flamethrower" skill emitting much stronger and longer bursts, Alpha Barbecue can grow its army faster than anyone else, allowing it to be much stronger in late-game combat. Try not to face off against this warrior from the front!


About Battle Royale Mode

In Battle Royale mode, you fight in an online free-for-all against nine other players, with each vying to become the last survivor. You'll have to use everything you can find if you want to win.
Keep in mind that the other Alpha Units and roaming undead are not the only things that can kill you. You also have to watch out for toxic gas clouds that surround you. After a certain time period, this gas will begin to engulf the whole battlefield, and the "safe area" between the gas clouds will slowly diminish each time. Obviously, prolonged exposure to the gas will get your Alpha Unit killed.

Also, to get the upper hand against your enemies, there are some special locations you can visit to aquire the most powerful units available in Necroland: Undead Corps. Naturally, you'll need to prepare for a real challenge if you wish to get rid of the guardians that protect these special units - not to mention fighting off other players who are looking for the same opportunity!

Alive in the Land of the Dead!

NecroLand: Undead Corps takes place in a post-apocalyptic wasteland where the entire human race has mutated into shambling, zombie-like creatures. However, a handful of undead “Alpha Units” have retained their cunning, their ingenuity, their will to survive... and to dominate.

You play as an Alpha Unit, and your goal is to outlast your opponents in the style of online multiplayer "battle royale" games. But NecroLand plays more like a real-time strategy game with RPG elements.

As you roam the terrain and encounter the mindless walking dead, you can "tame" them with a special gas and make them join your fight against other Alpha Units. You can recruit a whole platoon of creatures to follow you around and use their special skills to battle your opponents' undead armies. Conquer another Alpha Unit and you can add their troops to your ranks!

A New Style of Battle Royale

There are lots of battle royale games, but most of them are first- or third-person shooters. Developer JANUS LABS decided to approach the genre from a different angle. NecroLand introduces battle royale players to the fun of the real-time strategy genre, where your shooter skills are not as important as your ability to outsmart your opponents!
