I just tried the demo and I honestly don't understand any of the instructions on that sheet of paper. Those symbols on the front page? And the back page also tells me nothing... What is the correlation between the symbols and the 4 mechanical keys?

I am trying to direct the rays to succeed in unlocking a room or panel etc. When looking at a u-tube walk through it seems as if the anvil should be turned. But when I try to move the anvil I am told the anvil is locked. Can anyone help me out here and tell me what I should try to move along in the game. Thank you....
