If you have a save file that recreates the problem, and you are willing to send it to me, that might help me figure out what is going on. If you are playing a save file from several years ago, it's possible that something about it became incompatible with the newest version of the game. Everything is supposed to be backwards compatible, but maybe there is a bug somewhere.
The save files can be found at this location:
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\the_political_process\User Data\Default\saveFiles\campaignSaves
Note: in the location above, make sure to change UserName with your actual user name on your computer.
You should be able to type that location into the search bar at the bottom of the screen, or in the file explorer, hit enter and it should take you to your save files, then locate the specific file.
You can send me an email at support@thepoliticalprocess.com and attach the file.
If you don't have a save file that you want to send, let me know and I will try asking some questions to help figure out the source of the problem. Thanks.
I'll furnish you with a few details see if that helps. It's a new save.
I was mayor in a county and had set my proteges to run for a mix of city council and school board positions. All different so they weren't potentially running for the same seat. I only noticed nothing had happened with them after I was (narrowly) re-elected. I had a quick look online and found no real info so decided to ask here.
On their history tab it had no elections they'd run in and obviously no offices held. As I said I've not played in quite a while so perhaps this is a mechanic I am unfamiliar with.
I just did a test where I started the game as a mayor, gave a wife to my character and another protege. I set one to run for city council and one to run for school board. Both of them ran for election as expected.
I'm not sure what would be different in your game that would have prevented them from running for election.
Regarding the protege history tab, it only shows the offices they have held. It does not show their election history.
If you go to the Elections tab, and navigate to the relevant elections (Elections tab -> City -> City Council/School Board), do you not see your proteges listed in the election results? (Since you don't have the save file, I guess that is not something you can check, but at the time you were playing, did you look at the election results tab (or election results night) and specifically notice that the proteges were not shown in the election results?)
