Impossible Presidential Primary Win

So, I've won just about every election I've played in this game, and primaries are no exception to that rule. However, whenever I run for the presidential primary, I can't get my foot in the door at all.

My priorities are perfectly in line with the Democrats' top priorities (according to my national 1000 sample poll), my approval rating is extremely high (70%) compared to the rest of the Democratic nominees, my voter enthusiasm is leaps and bounds higher than the rest of the candidates (95% while the rest are at 80 something), and my name recognition is at 100% in every state. I have maxed out all the offices I could buy in every state. I have spent about 100 million in advertising, with very good results in voter enthusiasm.

My political points are at 3,000,000+, above and beyond any other character in the game. However, I'm always 8 to 100 delegates away from winning the primary. I mean, is it a glitch? Am I missing something? What is going on? How do I get that oval office prestige?

I lost and lost and lost and lost until I eventually moved every single one of my policies to the most popular position nationwide. Nothing else seemed to matter, or make any difference. But after changing the 4 positions I held that were minority positions within the party (as a Democrat, I was anti-border security, pro-nuclear power, anti-natural gas, and opposed GMO labelling) I started to win almost every primary by a narrow margin, instead of coming second or third each time. This despite 3 of those positions being borderline meaningless on the national level, including one that doesn't even having any kind of legislation attached to it.

Interesting. Hopefully, that'll work. I also hope the developer fixes this issue in the future and makes elections more based on personal narratives (like a candidate being too old or corrupt or unhinged) instead of the most minute of policies. Really interested in this game, but not until things like this are fixed. Candidates who say whatever the polls say come across as phonies to the public and rarely win. Also spamming rallies should not lead to wins. Keeping the base active is important, but should not have that big of an effect on the election other than base turn out.
