The Political Process

Senate and House Whip idea
Just a little thought, An update which would give more power to whips to go along with political influence to force them or persuade them to vote with the party, like whips do in real life

That does sound like a fun idea. I will have to think about what kind of influence the whip (or player as whip) could use to change votes (i.e. what would convince a politician to change their vote). If anyone has ideas, please let me know.

Political power, my idea is as Speaker you should be able to assign certain pols. to committees, so adding that as a feature and giving us insight on how members of congress will vote on a certain bill, you can use the whip role to convince them to vote for a bill like M4A or get their committees assignments taken away.

edit:
This would basically effect how high you get into congress, like it's not that easy just by winning to become speaker, you have to earn trust of the leadership and the party insiders, so people like AOC have a hard time bringing actual change, this will make it a challenge to get to party leadership and makes public support for an issue actually mattter, so the public support actually effects how likely the leadership is to support your ideas.

I don't know how feasible this is to implement, but trading votes seems like an interesting idea. Like if you're trying to get a member of the Libertarian Caucus to vote for a gun control measure, they would ask for your vote on their bill to cut Medicaid, for example. Also, with the protege feature, you might could even threaten recruiting someone to primary them.

Time expended convincing them.

Thank you for the suggestions everyone. I will add those ideas to my list. At some point there may be a political influence update, which could include building relationships with other politicians, directly influencing legislation, a more in-depth committee assignment process, and possibly a more interactive whip position.
