that's just a list based off tabletop or king maker. melee characters are wayyyyyyy better than casters in this game. it's so much easier to overcome high AC than SR in this game. even the highest AC mob in the game on hard, my fighter could still hit it 50% of time, no power attack, but still doing massive damage.
not to mention the laundry list of immunities that the enemies now have.
Mythic busts a few classes but thats another story
That tier list is clearly made with unfair in mind, as are all the other guides on that site, so it probably doesn't apply well to hard. A 50% hit rate on hard will translate to a 5% hit rate on unfair since the AC difference on some hard bosses are massive. Fighters are the best at low difficulty, since you can just right click and kill everything, but suffer in unfair because they are too one dimensional. Fighters can clear trash mobs fast af but they don't have any ability to kill bosses, whereas classes like sword saints have access to abilities such as true strike/perfect strike that would actually allow them to hit enemies with insane AC. They also require a ton of support, since they provide no utility or buffs themselves.
For solo play throughs, the kineticist is clearly the best, due to high AOE damage, and low need for buffs. They're not as great in parties, since the aoes can damage allies as well, and they don't really have any synergy with other characters.
For group play throughs, that tier list is pretty great, but keep in mind that it's made for min-maxing and unfair, like it literally says in the first line.
Sure, sure, all perfectly reasonable, but I'm pretty sure criticizing fighter is still a crime. It goes against the Geneva convention, probably, I assume.
I doubt its accurate considering how many classes there are.
Elritch scoundrel is amazing at supporting and having ranged poke damage.
Cant Target ac ? Np toss an acid splash to reduce ac and dr
rogue is good for splash but it's not great as a main class. a lot of its best perks are front-loaded.
monk actually has the same issue.
imo, barb is ridiculously powerful cos of rage. especially instinctual warrior. that subclass is just *chefs kiss*. mutagen warrior is a close second.
Depends how you see it . I value support just as much. Specially when its good support .
No, I disagree. There are almost equal.
I am using a pure elemental kineticist build before LV 15, my main attack is fire blast which target touch AC instead of normal AC. and count as spell that need to penetrating SR.
With the right feat and mythic feat, including Ascendant Element - fire damage which allow my damage pass through any deduction and immunity, that is no problem to duel damage. As for SR, the highest SR I have encountered is 45, which I found not too hard to pass through, at least better than 60+ AC
Agreed there is too many variables to make a reasonable list
hmmm what would your criteria be for ranking classes? cos for me, i kinda view them based on their performance as the class you put the most points into.
which is why i said what i said. rogue/monk dips are insane value but i don't think i'll ever take >5 levels in either.
