Then you would (if you have an idea) think he was going to drink. Then you think "tavern".
I couldn't actually recall where Lann stood. I expected to see his character portrait on the map, and that is what I looked for. I should have been able to talk to the Hand - who seems to know *all* about companions wanting to talk - who could have pointed out that Lann had come and then gone again. I tried talking to him and he said nothing.
This...... The Description works as Intended. He gives you a Letter, so he tells you he isnt there AT THIS MOMENT. He comes back Eventually. Just Read and Think.
You Speak about Bugs, AFTER People told you, its totaly intendet.
Yes the Game is Full of Bugs, minor and major ones(sadly), but that doesnt Mean that all of you People who want to finish this Game in 30H and rush through everything, should run around and say "Bug here, bug there, bug everywhere" while you got no Bug-Isusses what so ever. Its just Annoying, Helps no One and turns Dev Attentions(in worst Case) to Problems which doesnt exist xD
You find a Letter, he tells you hes Out for a NIght or Two, the Map doesnt show you, because it Spoilers you that he is in a Place in which he shouldnt be. So all is good.
I actually had a big bug with this quest in that after dealing with Lann "Dad" on my way back to the Nexus I decided to respec Lann at the Fleshmarket. I had gotten the message about speaking to Lann, did the respec, and Lann was dropped out of my party. Wasn't paying much attention and wanted to work on another few quests so I just grabbed another companion. Few hours later I realized I still couldn't find Lann. After spending a lot of trying to figure out what was going on I saw that his quest line was failed. So I permanently lost Lann at that point.
