What is with RPGs and stealing your equipment?

Just reached a part in the game where they pull the same stunt that every RPG does, and it's always so annoying. They strip all of your equipment off of you, imprison you for like 2 seconds, and then you immediately find all of your gear. But of course you need to meticulously re-equip every piece of gear on every companion. I don't know why every RPG does this, but I hate it every time. If you're going to do some sort of thing, like changing it up and having you play a level without your uber-gear, that's fine. But why bother stripping you just to make you immediately put it all back on?

are you talking about the prison part in demon path? makes sense that they take off your gear before putting you in a cell

You would think a computer based game could remember all the equipment you were wearing and would have a re equip button that puts it all back.

... said button doesn't exist ... sucks slightly when after sparring with Lann your MC has to put all their stuff back on ... sucks more when after the jail breakout all chars have to put all their stuff back on ... I guess one can simply live with the fact that it's a "one off" and BTW also avoidable.

well if it is any consolation it only happens in one of the mythic paths... no other path gets that... you just drew the short straw so 2 speak.

Thats why I never go to that fist fight with Lann.

First of all it's just stupid and second you have to re-equip everything afterwards. I hate that even more than the semi-forced aspect of the tavern fight.
