About Kitsune?
I'm not very knowledgeable about the races of Pathfinder but I'm sure this is the Cat like race hybrid correct? If so I was wondering from watching other people play the game that you can use disguise as this race, So does the disguise have any narrative effect on the story or characters around you at all or will companions and other world NPC just know you're a Kitsune no matter what?

A question for people playing the Beta already of course.

It's a fox race, inspired by japanese folklore with fox like yokai who could transform into people.
As for how the transformation will effect dialogues, don't know.
But since there is lot of races I doubt there will be much of race specific dialogue.
Maybe a comment here and there like in Pillars of eternity.
Doubt it will be done to level of DOS2.

There's actually a fair bit in already. Have found more than a few instances of race, class, deity, mythic path and specialisation dialogues, some with in-game buffs during certain points. Including several kitsune specific - although none of these have been disguise triggered I've found. But game is still in beta, so chances are there's going to be even more on release.
Adding on to the OP's post, is there an option to customise the appearance of the Kitsune human form?

Thanks for all the response I'm looking to try something new as I always find my self playing Elves or Humans so I thought this would be a nice change.

I hope so I'm a sucker for stuff like that and while I don't expect it in every game it is always a nice touch even if it has no major impact on dialog.

Pathfinder seems to have leaned more heavily into the existence of oriental themed races, than D&D. They've got Kitsune (magical fox people), Tengu (magical bird people) who are not playable in Wrath of the Righteous, and even a type of Dhampir (Jiang-shi Born) who are descended from vampires inspired by Chinese mythology.

As of the current state of the beta right now, I can neither confirm nor deny whether or not people have any special interactions with you being a fox person. Very few people are streaming the beta as one of the three newly added races, and the ones who do are almost all playing Dhampir. Seems nobody wants to show any love for Kitsune and Oread, unfortunately.

However, one of the stretch goals (they funded all of them) was enhanced reactivity for the player. People are supposed to have special interactions based on your race, class and I think even your religion.

Should have been ratfolk instead of anime foxes.

Yes I'm still salty about that.

Dhampir are Balkan folklore, specifically Albanian. It translates to tooth drinker.

I was actually hoping Ratfolk would have won, too. As it would have made the romance options amusing to see play out. But I'm happy with a Kitsune victory too.

Either choice was better than generic cat folk, honestly.

Dhampir have multiple heritages they can choose from, just like Aasimar and Tieflings.

The choices available in Wrath of the Righteous are as follows:

Ru-shi (born from the jiang-shi, or hopping corpse vampires)

Svetocher (born from the Moroi, who are the common stereotype of western vampire)

Ancient (born of the Nosferatu, known for being incredibly hideous)

Sacred Ancestry (born of the Vampire King, and extremely rare in number)

Vetala (born of the Ajabachana, I don't know real world mythology to compare them to)

I agree with you on catfolk. Ratfolk was IMO the most unique race of the 3, but at least Kitsune are mote interesting than the cats.

Been looking for some decent Kitsune portraits that aren't just a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ human with fox ears and tail. Managed to find a few good ones, but not as much as I would have liked.

Good to hear if they get that all done even better wont be upset if they can't but this does give me some hope that they're working on it at least.

I think the enhanced reactivity may be the reason for why Wrath of the Righteous allows you to pick your religion, no matter what class you are. Kingmaker restricted deity selection to just the divine spell casters like Cleric, Paladin and Inquisitor.

Looking foward to making a worshiper of Urgathoa during my Lich playthrough. Since her worshipers are actively encouraged to turn themselves into undead!
These are specific dialoge based on race and deity that I found and that stood out to me.
Race - Tielfings can join Thiefling gang, races with fangs like dhampires and kitsune have dialoge about their fangs with Nenio. Gwern mentions your race, like "You are respectable elf", or " Even though you are tiefling".
Deity - Rovagug specific text for Demon choice during Prolog, Atheist has special dialoges, with Ember and you get immunity from seduce attempt where succubus tries to charm you by taking form of deity you worship, if you worship deity you need to pass will save.
