Kingmaker is slightly easier for beginners to get into (although note that Normal in KM is harder than Normal in WotR) as there are fewer classes and no mythic abilities to overwhelm you. The enemies also don't scale up quite as aggressively as they do in WotR.
On the other hand, KM has some frustrating design choices (trap encounters at low levels, time limits that are not clearly explained, a somewhat obtuse kingdom management system you need to read a guide for) that can make WotR an easier game to get into.
I slightly prefer Kingmaker as it feels more cosy, but a lot of people strongly prefer WotR.
However, they also give you all the tools to overcome their dickery. And in WotR, there are MANY more tools available. Which is why I personally prefer WotR out of the two.
However, if you want to play both. I'd still play Kingmaker first. The QoL improvements of WotR makes it pretty hard to go back IMO. Just... make sure you have at least some mercs and be ready not to rely on magic. Or the last area may brick your playthrough.
Dont go backwards mainly because Kingmaker would feel like downgrade if played after Wotr and in human brain that can be a turn off. So just dont, play Kingmaker first and appreciate Wotr later, more.
Wotr is much more overwhelming as well.
but im slowly sliding towerds wanting to go back into kingmaker or something eles like that in a bit
Definitely play Kingmaker first. Play through it multiple times. Play a solo campaign. Play all the classes you want to play. Then uninstall it and play WotR.
Plus, DLC is still being released for WotR. If you played WotR first, you'd have to come back to it eventually to play new content. Kingmaker is content-complete.
I would say Kingmaker.
Wrath of the Righteous has a lot of quality of life upgrades that don't exist in Kingmaker and it'll be hard to go from Wrath to Kingmaker.
