Wendy and keeping her loyal
So, since this might be my last playthru, I'll ask. I'm not going with her from the start, since she's evil, and I'm not, and I like Lann's auto-build better.

That said, I keep hearing it's possible to keep her loyalty higher than that of the demon, but in three attempts, I never got it to work. I've been mean to her, picked all the evil options and such, but she still betrays us at the manor in Act IV. So is there something else I'm missing, or what?

There's a Steam Guide that details this exactly.

So it does work with just trust and not romance? I tend to romance the Queen, and since I'm going angel for this last one, that will be the case here too.

Correction, this one guide is for keeping her loyal if you pick her at the beginning. I have been told you can still keep her, even if you don't, and instead grab her during the underground moment in Act III.

I thought both her and Lann noped out when you meet them again in Act 3 only to return later. I'm not 100% on this. It sounds like you have more experience in it than I.

As far as your question, that's a Romance guide and it requires her to be in your party for romance to happen. I'm not usre about the specific circumstance you are asking about. There are probably other guides for that.

My cursory google search tells me that she will ALWAYS betray you in Act 4 if you recruit her in Act 3. For her to live, you have to use the Evil option in Act 3 and tell her that serving in the crusade is an honor that she's not worthy of. She will nope out but be recruitable in Act 5.

Whenever I've grabbed her in the underground moment in act 3 she's betrayed me. No matter how I treated her. When I pick her in the prologue she stayed loyal even when not romancing her.

I don't really have an issue going with her as a good character in the beginning. She makes a good argument in the beginning for going her route, and when you find out the truth, she sticks with you. It would be hypocritical of me to condemn her while trying to save the mongrels who just did the same cannibalism she was forced into. Its better she's running around with me than off loose somewhere.

Thinking back on the overall game as a whole I regretted taking Lann more often than I ever did Wendu. He had so many moments I wanted to smack him. Since he's not evil, but he's not good either.

I like wenduag much better then lann, but lann is more useful to most parties in my opinion.

I seem to remember someone said once you could keep her loyal with a late recruit, and I've been trying, so I'm going to say on this my...7th playthru that no, you can't. And that's okay then, I'll kill her during Act 3 then. I'm an Angel, after all, that means sometimes the best you can do is send someone on their way. Like a flaming sword equipped uber, for people who are drunk on evil.

it is 100% possible to take Lann through the Shield Maze, take Lann as the companion, and have Wendu join in Act 5; or more precisely, I can guarantee it was possible in Version 1.2. I don't know if taking Lann through the Shield Maze is required.

Especially so early game he is one of the best damage dealers in your party early.

Little known thing most people never realize... Wenduag is optimal if you playe her as a ranged dex tank using snap shot.

The first time I picked her, I just had her go pure Fighter archer. She was the biggest damage in the party for a LONG time.

Now, that was partially because I know how to build Fighters and was experimenting with the rest of the party. This resulted in her being the only one that could actually hit things reliably. But, she was straight up executing things while everyone else was kind of faffing about.

My favorite build for Wendu is not at all ranged but allows her to RIP and TEAR with the best of them while being filled with flavor. I'll share it if you are interested.

if you pick lann, and get the option to get wenduag in act 3. you shouldn't because she'll turn in act 4 unless you romance her, So chose the evil diplomance option in lanns quest something about not worth of the crusade. Which then well allow you to requiet her in act 5.

it's much like the trevor sosiel, getting both. requires alot of work /sigh

Honestly I don't get why people bend themselves over backward for this character. Both in work and mentally. I tried really for one play through. Now she is on my list for never accepting the character. Get a merc instead that is a fighter archer if you want it that badly. The merc will never betray you.

Because she has a good character arc and it's satisfying to see her want to change for the better
