They are coded in the game though, so I'm assuming there must be some way of getting them without mods.
OK then explain clearly what to do? I did not managed him at normal. And what if feeblemind did not work out cause he resist?
Buff. Area effects, area effects, area effects. And prioritize killing him first.
Makes no sense in game either. If the Swarm has the power to completely heal himself and reset all his spells, why wouldnt he?
It's done for the sole purpose of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with the player - real people who spent money on their ♥♥♥♥♥♥ games in real life.
After having had this happen in multiple OwlCat games now, I'm over them. I'm pretty wary of them now.
Yeah they did something similar in kingmaker with the boss in act III (IIRC, trobold's boss or whatever) and it was annoying as ♥♥♥♥ there. At least with that he was pretty easy to beat again since no swarms or annoying ADDS. This boss fight is also really annoying playing turn based too.
Bit of a fun thing you can do. In the room where you encounter the demon that wants to betray Xanthir, you can dimension door past the secret door into the hallway, go down the hallway, dimension door past the locked door and encounter Xanthir avoiding most of the dungeon.
But this thread is over 2 years old. I can understand posting when you have trouble with an encounter, but it's better to make a new thread.
It's Owlcat, you should be used to their "Arsehole DM syndrome" by now.
What I do is just play on normal, with "Companions resurrect at the end of combat" and "Remove negative effects on rest" options enabled. I feel like it makes the game more fun and cuts through a lot of the tedious BS. And of course, saving often.
Bare in mind that Xanthir actually wants to die, because he is 100% done with everything, and has emotionally checked out of the situation.
He only decides to resume the fight, if you tell him he's going to become a slave for one of the many incompetent demons he so despises.
Then again, it was more luck based, second time the firestorms kicked in way harder...
