I haven't played trickster in a while, so I don't know if the event resolution also makes them available as mercenaries. If it's not a repeating event like most mythic paths have, then it's probably a one time deal.
The trick is to separate the unit you want and send it a few paces away from your general. Use Reinforcements on it, then move it back into the general's army.
The more experience the unit is worth, the less of it Reinforcement spawns.
Tier 1 units are cheap, and you can usually summon around 300 of them with a single cast.
Higher tier units are more expensive, but you can usually summon around 10-20 of the mythics in a single cast.
Sadly, the spell has a hefty cooldown period, so it's best to use it for emergencies.
