act 5 taking drezen back, keep Hilor and one eyed devil alive?
Hi,

In my 3d playthrough i succeeded at keeping both Hilor (prison) and One-eye devil alive (tavern) and i failed it in my 4th (which i put in hold for 3 weeks so i don't really remember of my 3d order of doing things).

Can someone remind me how to keep both of them alive?

In this playthrough i went bell => prison => tavern but they were dead in the taverne although i think i have been very quick to go (it's like 10' irl i'm in Drezen only).

Aaah the wardstone wasn't yet there when i came to the abyss in this playthrough so that's why.

Yes, I had the Wardstone up and running and Hilor was just like "oh hi there" "REPORT TO DUTY!" "Yes, sir!".

Did run to tavern, but I don't remember running into One Eyed Devil. But he was normally there after, so.../shrug.

So, yeah, I know this from somebody else's post. The choice is only there if you don't have an active wardstone. As Aeon, I didn't.

Save Hilor. Evilly ignore his request to help the prisoners. Go to tavern. You can save One Eyed Devil (and Fye).

P.S. i didn't do this. I can't say I terribly missed One Eyed Devil, never was that great a merchant, but the Tavern feels kinda soulless without Fye sitting on the counter, and nobody replaces him. :-<

If you had to prioritize, I think most people would want to keep Hilor. You need him to do Spinner (although ... well, won't go into that now) ... and for respec/mercs (though the former you can do with TB).

"Spinner" is his quest, no?

I never got that quest to work. The last step which worked for me was in act 4 where i searched the ♥♥♥♥♥ house. And then, nothing in act 5 in all my 3 previous playthrough (even if in the first, i had a dead but walking Hillor... go figure).

Yes, I got the same bug. I've mentioned it elsewhere. It hit me on my 2nd playthrough. I might have to back to my 1st to ever see it. The 1st was the only one where I kept the wardstone active.

I'm not a total completionist, but I have a bucket list. I'd at least like to see how that resolves. Never have.

hmm it looks bugged for me. i go to the prison first, tell hilor to forget the prisoners, and then when i free one-eye after that the journal says "too much time was spent in the tavern; it's possible that hilor can no longer be saved in the dungeon". what gives?

I beliee it's a bug in the game that also prevents you from getting Spinner of Nightmares, even if you DO save Hilor; seems the game still thinks he's dead.

It's all borked. Sigh.
