Reason to recruit Wendu?

I can't think of a single reason with any character as to why I should have her along. For a good/neutral character she is demon fodder, for evil ones she's too pathetic...

What are her redeeming qualities?

No - wrong, in ACT V stupidity reaches galactic levels and he simultaneously becomes depressed and just wanna die... very disappointing.

I think the appeal is for people who like the Viconia/Kerrigan evil waifu vibe, but without the redemption arc that Viconia and Kerrigan both got.

I didn't even consider taking her. Lann is nice and funny and zen archers are super strong.

One of her ending slides is probably the best out of all the companions.

I really liked her character. I have only played through the game the one time and dont plan on playing another run until the DLCs are all out but I felt that she was one of the better character stories. I completed all the companion stories for the companions I had and I felt she had some of the best character development. Its possible that the character you wind up romancing (which was wend for me) gets a bunch more depth and maybe thats why she seemed well done. Compared to everyone else though she had alot more going on beneath her surface level behavior. I just didnt feel anyone else really had that except for maybe Regil, but he had alot less story in general.

Lann starts the game with three 17's on his character sheet. And as an archer monk, he can add his unarmed damage to ranged weapon attacks.

He's not negative but he's not really fun either. He's a lawful boring creep.

Wenduag is generally more fun than Lann. She can be reasonably strong dual wielding axe thrower slayer for example. I think ranger/hunter whatever with animal companion would be useful too but sneak attack bonus from slayer is pretty neat.

Also as a thrower shes sick. 10 hits a round with plenty options to multiclass.

Lanns way fun in convos though with daren and other ppl. Lann makes a good primal druid 8 or 13/nomad ranger? 1 viv bloodrager celestial?
I.made him an axe thrower no regrets hes a beast.



Wend makes a good fighter primalist thrower also. Probably axe thrower as well.

I'm just leveling Lann as a pure Zen Archer and I have no regrets so far (Though only about level 6).

O_O Are you trying to cheat by applying post-game knowledge? :)
For Good char - she is a poor misguided soul that need to find her redemption.
For Evil char - she is playing role of your pet (and until Act 5 you don't know that she is playing).

Depends how evil you are playing I guess.

Evil - Because she has no morals at all and will kill anyone you ask without question. She also promises you an army which I won't spoiler here. Any evil ruler needs a sociopathic right hand to handle the dirty jobs, what better than a sycophantic groveling one that already fears you.

Stat wise I find she's meh but I tend to up the difficulty to compensate and then respec all my companion stats anyway.
