Devil path
So, i heard about it....is it a thing? How, when and where do you take it, if that's the case?

I'm not at the point where you can make the change so this is just a generalization of it but.

You have to be aeon Or azata, when you are approached by a devil to make deals with able bodied, sound mind adults in Drezen as well as join the crusade against demons, accept it.

At some point in the coming chapters when you are returning to Drezen you'll be approach by the devil with the offer if I'm not mistaken.

For Aeon specifically, you judge people in the war table room. The adviser from Hell, if you let him sign contracts with people, will often chime up with suggestions for a judgement. Side with him on these. During Act 5 at the church when you either pick a new path or commit to your current one, commit to Aeon (even though during the retaking of Drezen during act 5 your Aeon powers will fail you if you've been biased towards evil and you'll need to pick the Legend option). Eventually you'll be sent to Kenebras and on your way there Mephistopheles will approach in a random event near the city. If you go to this event instead of Kenebras he'll hold a trail with some diplomacy checks you must pass. Succeeding will make you a Devil instead of Aeon. You'll lose Aeon rank 8 benefits but retain the rest of the ranks of Aeon but Devil stuff for rank 8 and onwards.

I think I got every step and I know Azata is a bit different, but I've played through Aeon/Devil so I think those are the steps for that path!

Rank 8, and yes, it involves a devil who wants to make a deal with you if you were first azata or aeon. (I turned him down, twice. Whadda surprise, they don't take rejection well.)

With Azatas,

the devil has been tagging along with you for a while, enjoying certain early sunsets, but won't reveal himself till later.

Too bad it's not a full blooded Mythic choice, but the disappointing Act 5 thingie. And, trust me, he isn't evil in the colloquial sense(that's more of a Demon thing anyhow), but damn does he desecrate and defile everything.

Mephisto, for the short time hr's present, is an absolute show stopper. He simply radiates authority. I wish for more involvement of Hell in general.

How is the Devil story as a whole for chapter 5? Decent or non existent?

I would like to know as well. But I hear it's short. Just do it if you enjoy Hell(knight) flavor etc. And make up your own story. :p

Really, can we pay for an expansion of these 3(Devil, Dragon, Swarm)? Legend unfortunately just doesn't make sense before that point.

You can only become a Devil if you pick either the Azata, or the Aeon path, and they both have a different quest line that leads to it.

For the Aeon path (as that's the one I followed), you will be interrupted on your journey for your transformation quest by Melies, who will offer you the chance to become a Devil, if you agree to come to a secret meeting spot to hold a trial for you.

If you pass the trial, he'll make you a Devil without having to subject you to an undefined period of torture in Hell. The game will go to the Mythic level system and you can transition from Aeon to Devil.

Diplomatic envoys from Cheliax will start showing up in your war room with attempts to negotiate terms with you. You can either support them, or you can troll them in an effort to get a better deal for yourself. Either way, Melies seems happy with your decisions.

Let's stop pretending. Mephisto will seem happy. But it's nice to hear it contains more deals with Cheliax. Literally one of the best parts of the game, Hellknights.

If you support Cheliax, he's happy with you, because Chelliax is a nation that worships Asmodeus as their state religion. Thus, supporting their schemes ultimately supports Hell itself.

If you troll Cheliax for a better deal, he'll congratulate you for behaving like a true Devil.

If you want to do this READ the guide very carefully. I got to act 5 in my first run and messed it up or maybe it was a bug (right after release) and was unable to get the change.
GrandMajora Dec 6, 2021 @ 5:14pm
Oh, the Devil path also gets to troll Baphomet. During the Inelectuable Prison, there's a unique dialogue option you can choose that forces all the puzzles inside to solve themselves, under the authority of Asmodeus.

Baphomet is NOT happy with you, if you do this, however.
