Cold Iron bars missing

In Act 2 I had a couple of bars I looted and they carried over to Act 3,
where the Storyteller uses them in order to repair/upgrade a relic item.
I couldn't give them right away because he wanted 4 and I only had 2,
so I continued in Act 3 to try and find more.
I am a good portion through Act 3 and the bars are not in my inventory
anymore.... is there a quest option I clicked on that uses them? If I made
a mistake and used them somewhere I can deal with that, but where would
that happen? what else in the game would require them, besides the storyteller?

I have also asked myself if i have sold those items or what at several points in all my previous playthrough. I never find them in the inventory but do not find enough materials to do all projects from storyteller

I'm currently early in Act 3, this is post-big patch run. Up to this point the only locations I've visited were:

- Shrine of Sacrilage
- Greengates (Aru quest)

+ Woljif's random encounters up to getting him back (yet to finish his quest).

I have 4 cold iron bars in my inventory right now and I clearly remember finding at least one in Greengates.

The thing with those items is that some of them are hidden behind Perception checks and if you are completionist type you definitely want someone with maxed skill + high Wis + wearing relevant items (both Lann and Sosiel are good candidates, I like to have it on MC as well).

Hmm, ok it almost sounds like a bug, I will try to keep an eye on them, and check
my inv for them more often, so far I have not had the storyteller complete any
of them, this would have been my first one, but those 2 bars vanished.
