What is the moral of Camellia storyline?
Bad parents raise bad children?
Wealthy families are psychos?
Never trust “alignment undetected” people?
I don't get it.

Even the rich can be morally poor.

Camelia: I hear the voices of the spirits....
Me: go to a therapist.

So I suppose the moral is that even in a fantasy game hearing voices is bad mental health?

Not every evil person has a complex reson for being evil. Sometimes they really are just that messed up.
The moral is ♥♥♥♥ the alignment system that's what.

Yeah I dont think there is one. If I had to come up with a 'moral of the story' for her I would say its that a parent will do anything to protect their child, no matter how messed up that child may be. But yeah in general the character of Camellia herself I dont believe is supposed to have some sort of life lesson to be learned from.

I think the moral is more meta, that some players will debase themselves to a surprising degree when doing otherwise would sacrifice some of their power.

The moral is: 'Don't keep the crazy ones around just because they're hot.'

Why do you say bad "parents"?
I think her mom is normal and perhaps a good person.

Camellia is absolute a chaotic evil person, and you can easily find out her alignment when leveling up.
And how could she become so bad? I somehow believe her parents are both innocent.
So the key point might because she drained the animals' soul and gain the mess power while young, and then become a psycho.

The moral is obviously "You can't save everyone". The game even out right tells you this, in one of the loading screens.

Come on folks, it isn't that hard...

Not everything is black and white.

The one thing i still don't get about her story is that she is supposed to be a spirit shaman, but where does she get her power?
once you learn the reveal at the end of her quest line

It's a good question but I think we need to suspend our disbelief a little in that regard. I think it'd be pretty cut and dry if we got a "Spirit Shaman" without the abilities of a Spirit Shaman the guise only works if we buy into the narrative that some spirit is manipulating her into committing those acts.

As I understand, she just had the talent to hear the spirit in childhood.
she killed dogs and cats, and then drain power from their spirit.
She enjoyed it and become sick. (not sure which came first.)
That's why she is a spirit "hunter", not a spirit shaman.
There is no spirit shaman at all, I think.

You don't care about characters, only META during combat.

Personaly i would have think that i could either call out the Mireya ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sooner (i couldn't, maybe i failed the test required to have a dialogue line) or really could help Camelia.

But the choices are a bit disappointing. And that's said even with the fact that now, after a disastrous first playthrough, gameplaywise, for that character, i love her as a character tool (her class chaman is interesting in the end).
