why does everyone love sirocco so much?
the damage is pretty small (especially after a save). is it because the enemies tend to stay in the area? or because of the exhaustion? elemental assessor with elemental barrage sounds like a more fun option.
i'm just choosing the first 6th level spell for a sorc (AT).

Every time a demon uses it on me half my party becomes prone and exhausted which makes it harder to shake off the prone. It's absolutely infuriating.

So yeah, good spell.
You do not really use sirocco for damage (something that took a long time for me to understand) but for the almost constant prone-ing enemies inside the circle which means, they are no danger to you.
ok so it's like higher level grease basically, with some cosmetic damage sprinkled on top to give it flavor.
demons using it on the partly probably doesn't tell much about its usefulness, since players don't usually have bloated saves.

exhausted is a pretty huge bonus as well
Just like grease, it works with selective metamagic
Hoping for Fortitude save fails and then shredding them with Outflank, because AI always gets up as soon as possible.

On a completely different note, if you dont have ascendant element fire but rather something else (you want lightning for stormcall by lategame anyway) you can probably elemental assessor and sirocco on the same turn with quicken rods and elemental barage should keep ticking every round just from the assessor lightning ticks + sirocco fire

Well Next patch is going to change the meta abit AS selective wont work on pit . Grease and sirocco. So casters are going to feel alot worse early game.
Atm casters are damn strong the entire game since selective pit and Grease is insanely good in Those early Levels

I haven't got to that spell yet myself in WotR but in Kingmaker it was the go to OP spell. You can stack it with stuff like Web, Stinking Cloud, Cloudkill and so on the create what I call "The Vortex of Certain Death". On the off chance that something manages to stagger out of it alive it's a simple matter to have your team waiting for them and swiftly ease their passing one at a time. And it doesn't matter how many of them there are they more or less always stagger out of it one at a time.

TL;DR I would not hesitate to pick Sirocco. Not for one second.

continuing the elemental barrage subject, does it leave only one mark, or one for each element (or even for each hit haha)? if the former, a second hit will proc 3 times for each element (i.e. 12 times total), which sounds pretty hilarious.

man, i didn't even realize there was a selective spell feat.. and getting access to cc'ed enemies was indeed somewhat of a nuisance.
Does Sirocco actually affect winged enemies in WOTR? It SHOULD. It's not a trip effect, rather it directly knocks the enemy prone so it should bypass trip immunity

^that was a bug that should get fixed as someone already mentioned - selective should not have any effect on CC - if you run your team into your selective cast CC you should get affected by it

it should only tick with 1 element (best one)

I've read the patch notes. I couldn't find any change to selective sirocco or any CC spell and I sincerely hope that it stays that way. Game is hard enough and selective CC are so much fun!!
