Is there anyway of quickly organizing your spells and abilities?
I'm level 10 now and just starting to overload the hot bars. Is there anyway of more easily managing those bars? I could spend some time coming up with a system and doing it all manually for everyone in the party, but sometimes spells move around or disappear (as you manage your spellbook, get magic items, etc.) so I'm not sure it's worth it.

For those that organize manually, are there any systems for organization that work well for you?

No it's a chore.

I'd like those kind of game have templates for icon position you can register and save, to load for the desired character.

I arrange them in order of the usage. Rare used spells I kept away from the hotbar. Stuff like Cure 1 which got outdated makes space for something new. Same with remove paralysis and such I know I hardly ever use.

Oh, and I sort them in themes too. Fire spell group. Thunder spell group. etc.

That part is a little easier for me because my PC is a lightning-only sorcerer that won't take any other elemental spells! I've got lightning bloodline, ascendant lightning mythic feat, and recently took lightning dragon mythic bloodline, so it's lightning all the way down.

You might like Stormlord's Resolve which turns all your energy attacks into lightning attacks. Enjoying Hellfire Rays as lightning attribute is something not to be ignored.

Just put your most used spells on hot bars. Use the layered hotbars for the skills when needed

Yeah that's what I do. I try to keep them as minimalist as possible. Turn off autofill too.

That's actually already an intrinsic ability for the air elemental bloodline (energy attacks are changed to lightning attacks).

I was about to say that it hasn't really come up though because I don't have any spells that do energy damage, but I'm wondering if I misunderstood what "energy damage" is referring to. I assumed that there were spells that did generic energy damage (and I was disappointed that that ability didn't apply to things like magic missile), but is it actually the case that that just means that any elemental spell becomes lightning (e.g. fireball -> lightning fireball)?

Correct. I derivate it from protection from energy spells - basically all kind of elements there are energy spells.

That is cool too. I am making "the kind of mistake" that I have my characters learn/ready spells like I would do if I were them. So if one has fire spells, it does not mean that the other does not learn it too if its useful. Same with remove paralysis etc. I would always be too afraid in their shoes, if that one who has X gets disabled and I am lacking the heavily used spell or skill.

What do you know, I just tried it with an acid splash and it is lightning damage per the combat log. Apparently I've been missing out on a pretty strong facet of my character's build without even knowing it.

I think I'll still take non-lightning elemental spells sparingly for roleplay reasons, but it's good to know that this is available to me. Thanks for pointing it out!

Once you get the mythic perk that allow you to bypass lightning resist and immunity, you can have a field day as a caster.

Depends, I normally put abilities that are always on in one of the left bars. Like halo's / wings / pets. Also i put my mount icon on that side, mainbar 1-8 is usually held for buffs, heals or spells and abilities I use frequently, like haste, bless, charge.

I try to organize all chars kinda similar so regardless how much i've been drinking I can find my spell.

Yup, that was the first mythic ability that I took. Combined with lightning elemental bloodline, lightning dragon bloodline, overwhelming mage archetype, spell penetration + greater penetration + mythic penetration, elemental focus lightning and greater elemental focus lightning, etc.... lightning spells have gotten pretty intense!

One thing I haven't taken is evocation school but I might do that next.
