Ascension, 6th crystal

Alright, what am I doing wrong here? I've tried playing this battle like 4 or 5 times now, and even when I shoot Baphomet or Deskari with a midnight bolt, they don't drop the 6th crystal so that I can get Areelu to ascend to godhood with me.

Or if they do drop it, I can't see it anywhere on the map!

i had 5 + the knife and it was enough for ascension ending

Do you activate the arrow during combat or in advance? Try activating it during the fight. And during the fight against Deskari, control the character who is closer to him in order to have time to pick up the crystal before the start of the cutscene.

yes, I do, and it ticks off my belt.

The combat dialogue says the attack with my weapon misses, but the bolt still hits, because the bolt is enchanted to never miss. Not sure if that's the issue?

The knife counts as a 5th crystal. I'm trying to get a 6th, so Areelu can become a demigod, too. But they won't drop the 6th crystal, and I've only got 1 bolt. Meaning if they don't drop the stupid thing, I have to redo the fight and conversation with Areelu and try again.

I got the same issue as well.SO annoying!

Considering you are doing everything correctly... Perhaps Toy Box can help?

With it you can add in the missing crystal during the fight if it doesn't drop again.

I even tried using the Trickster spell that makes my next 3 actions an automatic Natural 20. Still didn't drop it. :-(

Finally gave up and decided to just use the 5 to ascend me and my party. Really wanted Areelu to join us, but patience is not a virtue I possess, and doing the fight 6 times in a row was aggravating.

so without that stupid dagger, I won't be able to ascend, right? I foolishly used Aeon option because I've mixed it with Azata option and I wanted to play as Azata.

You can. Dagger just counts as additional crystal.

But yeah, after 6 fights I would defiantly just use a toybox and save time and nerves,

I don’t think it’s that bad. You can ascend with 1 crystal. It’s just you won’t have a full 6 to bring everyone along for the ride.

no I mean the ending won’t be the entire party ascending just how ever many you have crystals for. However there is a theory coming out that since one of the dlcs is post game you will be able to but that’s dlc and just a theory

You need 1 fresh crystal for only you to ascend. You need 5 fresh crystals for you and the rest of your party to ascend. And you need 6 fresh crystals for you, your party and Areelu to ascend.

The purple stone knife counts as a fresh crystal, the others are obtained by shooting Demon Lords (Baphomet, Deskari, Nocticula, Areshkagal) with a Midnight Bolt. They only drop 1 per battle, though, so don't use more than one bolt on them for each encounter.

Demon and Trickster can both obtain a 5th crystal without doing Nenio's quest. As their Mythic path involves a confrontation with Nocticula. Everybody else needs to put up with Areshkagal's BS.

During the Ascension ending, you will have to face Baphomet and Deskari at the same time. They are both supposed to be able to drop a second crystal during this fight (in addition to the 2 they dropped in your previous encounters). But that doesn't seem to be working properly at the moment.

Damn it! I finally got the crystal to drop, but my stupid allies killed the bosses before I could pick it up.

There needs to be a way to disable the party's auto attack, because I keep clicking for them to run the opposite direction, and they take about 3 steps before rushing back to attack the enemy again. It is an enormous pain in the ass, when I'm trying to do something that needs to be completed before the battle ends, and I can't tell my allies to piss off for a few seconds.
