if original poster needs help, best to share screenshots
It's pointless posting screenshots when there's nothing showing in the inventory when I used the puzzle slot. When I look in the inventory, two slabs are there. I tried Core first, failed. Finished the Forgotten Secrets puzzle first, went back to Core of the Riddle. Failed again. Went back to longhouse to see if I miss anything. Nope. Nothing to pick up.
Look up several images of Core complete puzzle and compared to what I did and the images very carefully. Give up.
And yes. If any of the Owlcat devs are looking in, I want them to know their puzzles are no fun, contribute nothing to the story and a waste of time. I spent hours on the frustrating puzzles when I rather spent it immerse / enjoying in the story.
Start by showing what you put on the floor already. You are thinking too much into it. If you do not want, just submit a suggestion like with the example.
I don't mind a few puzzles in a game but if I wanted to do floor puzzles I'd have bought a puzzle game.
They were exceptionally novel the first two playthroughs but I can't even be bothered to do them anymore simply due to how unfun the entire thing ends up being.
