I'm pretty sure I did the missing scout quest
But I have no clue where that guy is supposed to be.
And I wonder, why we have that quest if we can't find his location (as in, having it not unlocked in act 3)
The location is in/near the Old Sarkorian mines, in turn revealed if you talk to Selkind in Act 3 (he's near the Drezen Barracks). As people said for "Missing Scouts". But if you don't talk to him in Act 3, Fextralife and other sites seem to indicate the location will not show up in Act 5. Some locations get revealed just by wandering near them, like the numerous "stop here for reagents" sites (sometimes found by your armies if not your party), but it seems Sarkorian Mines are not one. I've wanrdered all around Areelu's Lab and it did not just "pop up".
The location you are looking for, if you do get it, is one several folks have complained about - called the Shrine of Three - and the only thing I can point out is they also seem to hate it because it swarms with waves of enemies until you activate some stuff on the walls, and it forces you into turn based combat. You might not wanna find it. :-)
In the meantime, my 3rd playthrough and I'm still wondering WTF is gonna happen with Spinner of Nightmares. Hilor did not die. I found his info at the brothel. I told him about it. I got his letter, as you are apparently supposed to, in Crusade mode. (Dunno why.) This is supposed to lead to the last stage of the Spinner of Nightmares quest, but ... I still don't get how/when and it hasn't happened. Talking further to Hilor does nothing.
Once, just once, I actually want to do it, though that all said, the actual encounter appears not to be as interesting as the buildup, and is one that can be resolved without bloodshed.
