How to set up the hot bar

Hey, all. I know I am setting myself up for a lot of 'LTP, NEWB' but I just don't care anymore. I have been looking everywhere I possibly can and can NOT find a place with instructions on how to access your belt items in combat.

I've got most everything else figured out, but other than the default spells, feats, and abilities that the game puts on the hot bar, I can't find a way to put scrolls there.

Can anybody help me out?

It's a bit low key but above your hot bar and a bit to the right there's a UI item that has a 'B' in a small circle button. That's your belt items.

If i understand you right:
in inventory equip the scroll as a quick item.

In game, open quick item tab (the 3d little button above main bar).
drag and drop the icon of one of the 5 quick items in your action bar location of choice. Beware, the icon will disappear (i think) if you use the item and it's not renewable.

On top of the hot bar you will see the letters S, A, and B. S = Spells. A = Abilities. B = Belt.
You can click and drag things to the hot bar or click and drag stuff off the hot bar, To set a scroll put in you Belt in the inventory screen, close, click B. A small window will pop up with the stuff in you belt, drag the scroll to the hot bar. Scroll will not reload if you have multiples you will go through this each time.

I know this is months late and I may have to start a new topic for it especially since I cant find my problem anywhere after days of searching.... But I know where these tabs are and how to use them. though my problem is when I click on them they will not open and I cant fathom why because when I started they worked perfectly fine. but now i cant open them to put spell, items, ore abilities on the hot bar which effectively ends my ability to play because half my people are casters.

You are using mods. Toybox in particular is a real problem with this. Disable the mods, and restart the game. they will start working again.
