paladin and horse : mounted combat for who?

Hi,

i noticed that both Seelah (paladin pure) and her horse (pure horse) have access to some feats in common for "mounted combat". (Like the feat who allows the rider to use mobility to avoid damage on her horse if > attack roll, once a round)

Now i'm lost: who needs to take it:
- the rider?
- the mount?
- both?

It's not very clear for me and in my first playthrough i took those feats on Seelah, but now i'm wondering if that was the right thing to do because i don't remember it coming into play (maybe it did, it didn't catch in my view).

That's correct. Seelah uses her mobility.

So you are saying only Seelah should take the feat?

(then why does the feat appear in the horse list??)

The rider should take it. They work when riding the mount.

No idea why the mount can take these things. But there's a lot of stupid feats mounts can take they can't use. (like archery ones)

Because theoreticly they can learn that Stuff.... And you could PTransform them into something with Hands which can use a Bow or come up with other Ways of giving them Arms and Hands and such. Not sure if the Game itself allows for that,(since that needs to be Programmed into it) but on the Table its possible.

Is it my imagination (or maybe that mobs attack mount instead of character) that usually when mounted you take lot less hits (maybe only from AoE) ?

Also quewstion is if it worth taking the mounted combat feat

Mounted Combat is a pre-requisite for other mounted feats such as Mounted Shield (which gives the mount a shield bonus), and some sort of Mounted Charge thing. Not neccessary, but nice. Also note, it is quite unlikely the Mounted Combat will be useful, as getting the Mobility to the point to negate a hit will be very hard!

Its not your imagination. Enemies usually target your mount before you.

Its only worth taking the mounted combat feat if you're investing heavily in the mobility skill. You don't need it to ride in combat.
