here i made a video a while back getting him down in 4 turns on insane :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QDU8IcHkMJ0
or here is another video where i speedrun the whole Act 1 on easy difficulty, pretty much doing the same thing, the only difference is that Sid has a weapon mod that can trigger a second shot which can help, also frag granades do fair damage.
Brumak fight starts at 59:25. :

in skill tree you want to focus on skills that gives you more action points, with everyone, especially gabe, snipers can clear out a whole map with two supports.
the more action points you got the less chance the enemy has to attack you.
and forget about the healing stim, anything below insane difficulty the enemy do little damage if you play clever, on insane, well they one shot you,so better have a frag with gabe too, which can make or break the fight.
I haven`t played the game in a little while but from what i remember all the usefull skills are towards the top right corner except the scouts.
Anyways, i finally won just now out of pure luck after atleast 10 try's. My soldiers were at a sliver and the boss decided to go after jack which saved me. 1 more turn and i would have wiped.
i was able to respec 2 of my guys to the top right corner which allowed a few extra turns which helped alot :) That's a brutal boss fight. Maybe i had bad luck on loot drops from the earlier missions. I wonder if i should start over...
yes the brumak fight is a tough one,but i am glad you made it.
for restart? well it`s up to you really, you can still re-spec skills and hire npc`s.
you can actually take their weapon mods and armor off them and then fire them.
Here i found a list of mine i have saved what worked best for each class, its not even the crit its about the bonuses you getting from each mod and armor.
SUPPORT :
Weapons :
- sleek stock
- expert mag
- precision scope
- power barrel
Armor :
- onyx retro helmet
- commando vest
- hunter braces
VANGUARD :
Weapons :
- sleek stock
- extended mag
- digital scope
- power barrel
Armor :
- uir regulator [helmet]
- uir regulator [chest]
- uir holsters
SNIPER :
Weapons :
- padded stock
- sleek bolt
- precision scope
- wrapped barrel
Armor :
- onyx retro helmet
- onyx shell
- delta straps
SCOUT :
Weapons :
- precision grip
- extended handle
- precision sight
- power barrel
Armor :
- uir regulator [helmet]
- uir regulator
- uir holsters
in early game put the uir regulator armor on sid so he can throw frags, then late game scouts will be op, they can decimate an entire map by themselves, throwing frags and cloaked every single turn.
if you playing with jack try to send him out collect as many boxes as you can i believe its 3 on each mission plus side objectives if they not too hard. for jack i found the best skill on the bottom left corner i think,he trows an emp and the enemy cant move or shoot for 3 turns, thats a big help.
Brumack is probably hardest fight in the game. Keep leveling your core characters and you'll be alright.

I can get him down on my first turn without him having a turn, not sure why would you waste turns on destroying his guns which barely does any damage.
https://youtu.be/jL_OoxKOzFk
and the guns did massive damage to where he downed my guys from full health
edit: ah naw dawg, i just watched your vid, half a tank in what hit is ridiculous. idk what diff that is, but i only did around 10-20% of his tank in one hit.
it is on insane difficulty, the highest there is. as you can see i got one full health bar, on lower difficulties you got your health bar divided into small squares.
Unfortunately there is about a 10 seconds missing from the start of the video, where i do a "lock and load" with Gabe. Top right corner of his skill tree, which gives a reload to all teammates and everybody gets 50% more damage, i also give 2 action points to my heavy and with that he gets an additional 20% more damage.
everyone ariving at this fight would have a different build with their skills, so i think it's very logical that you would take out the arm-guns first. the dialogue throughout the mission even tells you that right from the get go - to destroy the machineguns on his arms.
